what is the best way to remove paint from a lexan body shell?

(i beleive i read somewhere that brake/clutch fluid (for real life cars) will remove the paint. if this works, how long should the fluid be left on the paint for? does the paint then just smear off? will the lexan body be thinned/weakened with brake fluid smeared over it for a min or two???)

i found it much easier to just buy a new shell.

if your only doing a small part (clearing headlights etc) then its not so noticeable, but seems like a shit of a job to remove it from an entire shell.

thats just my personal experience :)

I have heard the brake fluid idea, I have also heard of Mr Sheen you know the oven cleaner??? apparently that works but i don't know. I never paint my own bodies so i have never had to get paint of a body!!!!

supposedly nitro fuel works, but I don't think it's worth wasting.

sorry to reserect a old thread but tis true, everyone in america is removing paint succesfully without destroying bodies by using brake fluid.

After 15mins in brake fluid and a little bit of scrubing it looks good as new.

Believe me it works

Would depend on the type of paint used as well.

Even windex can work wonders on some paints.

I have used acril pain thinners, it gets that paint off so easy, but it also starts to melt the lexan lol. I ruined my evaders body from doing it, trying to give it clear windows, but now they are just a blury mess :D
