mitch, would heavy rope be better than gaffer tape?
re-usable etc and a hell of a lot harder for the cars to move (big thick rope)
damn the cars look very very impressive :)

holy shite, check out the turnout you got to this event!!
you mentioned there that youre looking for sponsors, what are you hoping to get from them? teamadrenaline could sponsor your event but we dont make any money doing this (we run at a loss, the things we do for love) so we'd use a barter system: some decent publicity on this site in exchange for a mention of "www.teamadrenaline.net" at your drivers breifing and trophee presentation type deal.
your thoughts?

heavy rope would be good i think the only reason we use electrical cord is its cheaper
so yeah if you can get hold of some heavy rope that would be great

yeah heavy rope is a good idea, i know a friend at stanbridges (but dunno whether she is still pissed off @ me) so will see if they are interested in any sponsoring seeing as RC drift is taking off now...its a long shot but worth it...
oh btw, i dont think 2 many shells could take on mine for the sh|tbox award =p
trq steer
07-08-2005, 09:11 PM
sure more promotion would be great and we could have team adrenaline engraved on the trophy's ?
i would run my r/c and road car with site stickers on it
we could have a banner to put up at mettings but that costs $$

thats right, and salmon is a very manly colour. Dave will fight anyone over that aswell, once i saw him punch this kids head off just because he opened a window. Ohh wait, that was a ninja, Dave will still kick your asses though if you knock the shirt.

now all he needed was a sailor, policeman and a indian and he could have had a party...
I mean, pink is manly, salmon is manlier... my next rc shell was going to be pink but now im thinking i will give it a miss :D
that rx8 is pretty damn nice, i hate green but that looks so nice.
after looking through the cars it will be hard to judge the concourse with so many nice cars... looks like i need to hurry my upgrade along :(

yeah, hopefully everyone can put in their constructive criticism and make the next battle even better, maybe we can have battles hosted by teams, so as the last one was hosted by Team SC another team may host the next one, that way we can vary things up a bit and see what people like.

Great idea on the idea of other teams hosting other battles. We at Banzai drift club have already considered this idea. Great for the promotion of our hobby in as many areas around the metro area as possible. Different surfaces, locations etc. !super

I'm already looking forward to the next comp, new shells different tyres, maybe a new look for me as no one seems to like the current one. Maybe if I enter 4 cars next time I might have a better chance of winning. Teams organsing events would be cool, I guess we will be going down to rockingham soon then.

08-08-2005, 09:33 PM
we could run down here but finding a good spot could be a problem
we have one excelent spot in kwinana but the surface is too rough
and another (a tennis court) which is a bit more grippy
after running on concrete last weekend id like to run on concrete again unless we can find some good smooth tarmac
ryper could be an option as well

We gotta run on as many surfaces as possible(as long as they're smooth). So we can gain experience on all surfaces. :?
davetripoli
08-08-2005, 11:33 PM
the best surface would be smooth tarmac. New car parks are the best like where gary lives in ellenbrook, even if it's a little rough like at belmont park it ok.

Nice new smooth tarmac in stirling on cedric st. Get off the freeway and head east then it's on your right. It's a big carpark for some council building I think. I've been there a few times by myself cos it's so nice. Lights at night too.

Hat's off to the guys for organising the event...(Dave no pun intended). I think that Rc Drift has a real future in Perth and I thinks that while we have seperate teams the comp should be organised by one body... and that we move from area to area for different surfaces and scenery!
Great to see everybody is getting behind it and I look forward to the next meet!
I was thinking we could have team meets fortnightly and race meets where all of the teams come together for a comp??? That way we can run a full day of racing and include a team demo... like ROSSCO suggested... Team Drift all lined up around the track???
Just food for thought? %-6

hey g, good 2 see ya in here...
lotsa plans happening, was talkin 2 mitch and floated the idea of having teams take it in turns of hosting and organising a battle...
saturday nite drift meets sounds like a kool idea to for everyone 2 practice and have a bash around and a battle once a month...
with such a great bunch of people drifting i reckon that we'll be able to make sumthin absolutely awesome out of this! !super

it's amazing, only two months ago i was organizing meets where only 1 or 2 people would turn up. Now we have 3 teams and more drifters than I've ever seen, this has been the goal from the start so I have to thank everyone for getting involved and special thanks to Mitch and Ross for helping kick it all along. I will go anywhere for drift so I don't mind where the meets are, and Jack you could be onto something there with the vids.

Alot of their stuff is clever editing(and skill but mostly editing) Our video, which wasnt bad was banged out over 3 hours, one of the sg guys said they had weeks of drifting compiled into one vid then a couple of days of chopping the footage up.
Our skills are pretty much at the right point i just think we need to get together more.
Yeah dave i know how it was with the events.. Back back when i organised a few 6 of us was a good turnout then it slumped a bit in the last few months and it seems to have picked up again. There are about 6 guys that didnt come last sunday that are keen so its gonna get pretty big.
mitchster
11-08-2005, 11:17 AM
YES! chopping applied.
if i set out to edit [the right way] and put a week into it,
compiling all footage.....street sessions, racing, clowning aroud etc.
we will eat them all alive. i have been a video editor/motion gfx artist for 13yrs now,
and i have all the gear [real-time edit system-betacam etc].
the vids so far have been me doing a 'rough' cut,
[about 2hrs on each video edit including compression, upload, etc]
and being so keen to get it out to everyone.....it looks rushed.
SO, that said.......mitch would like to compile a MASSIVE movie, all the teams kinda video.
that will blooooooooow EVERYONE awaaaaaaaay! [i'm gonna make request footage thread]
