Hey as promised this is my little review on the TT-01D chasis.

Ok basically this r/c car is the same as the TT-01 but it comes with:
- the adjustable camber and toe in sets
- full ball bearings
- Sports Tuned 540
- Sports tuned soft suspension with damper oil stuff
- and of course the sweet drift tires
- heat sink

Ok Basically this car is sweet :) the drift tires work perfectly on slippery surfaces [i.e. a little bit more lsipper than the surface of the DRift battle 2 place at belmont. I have heaos of fun with this car at my local school as the surface is sweet for drifting and the tires give a little bit more grip which helps with acc/deceleration.

The adjustable toe and camber also helps with the drifting and helps the tires lose that unwanted friction

Also im getting a new GT-Tuned motor for my tt-01d which is currently only avalable in japan thanks to the miss for gettin me that :P

Overall id rate this car pretty good cus it was pretty cheap (about 280$) and it drifts pretty insanly with those pvc tires, if any body wants they can try it out at the next drift practice on saturday night.

I just finished a new paint job and added some sweet new grills on the front so it looks much better.

Ok hope that help you guys out! :D 8)

hmmmm if its essentially a hopped up tt-01 that takes a lot of the sexiness out of it for me :)

nice write up tho, covering the important parts.

still, nice to see a mass produced drift kit out there other than the fairly expensive yokomo setups.

a better buy than buying all the hop ups listed

standard tt-01 comes with bloody plastic bearings
a good buy i think

does it come with esc

my bro said $150 i thought he meant USD as he said "rcmart"

you would have it to your door for under $200 AUD... looks like a winner.

that makes my choice for new car for drifting that much easier :)

I was seriously considering this kit, but I think I'm still swaying towards a hpi stage-d kit. For an extra 80bux I will get a spare set of regular wheels/tyres, nicer ricier body, oil shocks (I think since it's a Sprint 2), although it misses out on the tamiya esc which is fine by me. It also has much more potential for hopups in my opinion.

stage-d justo.

DON'T DO IT!!!!! they are belt eating savages outa the box,
it took me a month of mods to get it running sweet.
HPI could learn alot from team associated. [damn newbies!!!] ;-)

on drccentral there is a thread on modding these....sprints.

sounds like a good value kit for the beginner, bout time Tamiya brought out a drift kit!
at about $100 cheaper than my TB-02 was its still got a fair amount of features that mine does.
sounds like a great little kit, just whack some ABS on it and you would be set to start off with! 8)
enjoy it before you get the hunger for an angry 15 turn motor and crazy high speed drifts !super

I hear ya. BUT, if I'm choosing between all the drift kits available, the tamiya doesn't have enough, the yokomo seems overpriced and limited in hop ups, which leaves the hpi.... Personally, I'm not a huge fan of shaft drives, dunno why, just don't particularly like the feel. Rocks in the belts is a problem I had with my Pro3.... I guess I'll just go into stanbridges (bleargh hobby stores) and see how I feel on the spot.

they have the bodies listed in accessories not in parts

there is an r34 that sticks out, but i didnt look too hard

there are also ABC shells there for $14USD

etamiya has more shells and are a little more expensive but would have the shell for sure

justo: if you like the HPI stage-d [EP], then gt a sprint2 kit....mod it with ABS tyres,
and u just saved a hundred bucks....the only difference in the kits are the tyres!
- the bodies and stickers are cool, but for a hundred bucks....nnnnaaaah.
[which don't even work for electric drifting]
same diff with the yokomo kits etc....me thinks gimmicks....standard kits have what u need.
and you will always modify it to your own tastes eh.
i will even set you up with some ABS fer nuttin. :-)

i reckon bang for buck and for a beginner, nothing really can beat this new kit, largest supply of parts and all usually the cheapest to repair as well.
im not a big fan of the HPI stage-d kits, but hey gotta go with what ya like best in the end!
Good luck, happy drifting =D

hehe thats what that + postage meant i guess :)

when i was looking to add this to my current rcmart order it only added $28USD to the total in shipping.

but yes, it ends up costing more when you add the shipping, for sure.
