im after a new chassis
i have nfi what to get. so many choices.
the tt-01 seems to be the one im leaning towards.
i dont want belt drive, end of story.
i also need to know what type of motor to get.
my current setup (dodgy acme chassis and brushless set up) is way too fast, and spares will be hard to track down once i start connecting with walls instead of people :P
so, other than the tt-01 (tt-01d as well), what are my choices?
cheers for any help.

Why don't YOU get the TC4? 300bux delivered....

that was the other chassis i was considering and after noticing most people using tamiya's at the drift comp i thought stick with what i cn get the most support with.
having said that, buying something different also has its advantages.
i need to find something to chew up some of my tax return :D
laptop, guitar and an rc kit should do it :P

Motor wise get around a 16 turn. Hardly any lag and heaps of top end power for the bigger sweepers. Im not sure about cars sorry, the TB-02 seems good but you should get the TB-02R because it is sexy. That said ross was saying they are very fragile due to so much adjustment. Im a fan of the TT because its a beefy tank and doesnt break much for other people(Cant speak for mine though)

What guitar you wanna get?
ps....Pro4 = SEXY + different

just looking at an electric starter package atm justo, prolly one of those $400 guitar + amp + shiznat packages everyone advertises.
the pro4 is indeed sexy, i ordered one and cancelled the order 3 hours later when i realised the lack of hop-ups and the insane price of the few hop-ups available kind of scared me off it.
tt01d might be the one. i havnt broken the acme as yet, but the brushless motor rips through pinions so fast, like every 3 or 4 hours i need to replace it. and yes the mesh is fine but im thinking the timing is a little too aggressive for the plastic pinion.
i have a reedy MVP 24t still that i got from justo and some 27t POS motor i got with the acme. the 8t brushless motor is a little too crazy :D

Pro4 needs no hop ups. Thats why there aren't any :P Really, it doesn't.
I would have even gone for a 2nd hand TC3 if I was offered one yesterday. Lots of parts and support.
**edit**
Although, seeing your signature pic now makes me think you better go with a cheap tt01 ;)

opAsx - TT01D. Its ball raced and doesn't need anything "extra"
I will be buying myself one shortly. As for a motor, I'd look at 19D or faster. Don't use a 27 Stock motor, they have a coging effect when your off throttle (its like a drag brake).
The lesser turn motors (19 and lower) are better balanced and give you a softer braking effect.
Yes I plan to use a 19D in mine :)

sounds good.
tt01d it is... and some aluminium bling for the hell of it :D
it has plastic shocks standard on the d kit doesnt it? rcmart have some aluminium ones on special atm that i think i will get with it and a new shell (I hate wrx's)
yay, decision made... for the next 5 minutes anyway :P

duuuuude!
hey i'm gonna say TC3, team associated have the knowhow and lineage.
rockin performance, swaybars and all the gear standard, light as hell....[sokay]...
whoah graphite!
and wow, solid steering no slop. [which helps heaps]
i have a TT01, which i drift. = good.
i have a sprint2 [stage-d], which i drift = great
and i also have a TC3, which.....you guessed it. i drift. = awesome.
for me, i love the ball diffs + shaft drive + sway bars + awsome steering
the TC3 has on offer, and because they are an older car, you can pick em up WAY cheap.
last nite i pulled a 20sec drift, must a been a world first for me....off camber hill...power thru all the way....blew my head right off it did!
[and yeh, i'd go with the advice motors from the other guys]
i use many different motors for different stuff, gearing them accordingly. have had great
success with a 20t and a reedy MVP.[24º/27t] :-)
my two cents.

Hmm .. The TT01D has spider diffs :( Back to the drawing board.
Maybe a TC4, opAsx? 3 Racing have a carbon chassis conversion for it too. I like the look of it (It has ball diffs too) and I can use it to race later as well.

depends on how much u wanna spend dude, i reckon the TT-01D is an awesome kit, bigger motor and some good ratios runnin on ABS itd chop.
If u want more adjustability then u mite wanna go up 2 the TB-02, thats what im running, comes with adjustable camber all round, oil filled shocks, adjustable toe on the front, ball diffs front and back that are adjustable, ally prop shaft and steel dog bones.
Ive been driftin this thing for ages had heaps of crashes and never broken anything really, they dont look as tough as the TT-01 but i reckon they are tougher considering the way they are designed and the use of more ally/steel components rather than plastic. Just ask jack who won when we crashed :p
Motor wise, like jack said 15-16 turns is pretty awesome with some good ratios, doesnt take that long 2 get used 2 the power and once u can control it you can really put it to good use. On the video u can see the difference in power as we come on 2 the straight we could hold the whole straight sideways whereas the stock silver cans or sports tunes usually had 2 feint in 2 the next corner.
If the drivers are kool, id say have a whip of theirs at the next meet, try the different set-ups and see which 1 u like the best. Tamiya does have a much larger fan base hear and the TT-01 is by far the easiest kit to get parts for, TB-02, not so easy &|

for drifting I'd probably buy a Yokomo Drift kit... or another Tamiya TB-02.
the yokomo kit's come with the wild drift shells and accessories :)

TT01 spider diffs arent bad, you just smash blutack in them so they lock up. Or you buy the ball diff's and the front 1-way(i want to buy the front 1way so bad...)

I say go tt01 simply because in drifting you break stuff and the tt01 has cheap easy to get parts. I drift a tt01 and can't complain at all even with the spider diffs. another alternative would be the losi xxx-s a lot of guys in the UK use them and say they drift very well, $400 with 19turn, speedy and JSX radio is great value.
