remotebandit

$9500 inc everything .

NO license required but you must be a registered member at a club for public liability purposes .

Guys , this thing smells identical to a 747 , if your within 50 meters of it when its running , you will smell like the airport .

Ive been uhhming and arring for ages over it but it was an impossibility but lets just say i found money as an un expected debt was mostly paid to me that was long gone dead and bueried as this bloke dissapeared , and the misses didnt know about it so i went and lay byd it with a promise of the balance coming in the next few months , hence when i pick it up .

If he doesnt pay me the balance , i can tell the misses this heli if for sale at a 3rd of the price ( thats all i owe on it now and she dont know ive left money on it allready ) and for $3,000 the argument with her will only last a week so its worth it .

You single guys just wont understand ... hehe .

90,000 RPM , full computerised control via ECU extrenal unit with display etc .

Its totally off its head .

But i know how to 'generate' money heheheeeee

does it run on av-gas or something?

looks kinda "plasticy" or is it ment to be like that for some reason that i don;t know

remotebandit

all carbon fibre including the body .

It runs on propane to get it going for the first 30 or so seconds then switches a propine / kerosein mix . Ive seen it startt 3 times and ive shit myself 3 times .

Ive been flying helis since i was 14 and im now 32 so yeah , no issues , just time for something different .

remotebandit
12-08-2005, 05:39 PM
nah JD , you MUST ALWAYS leave any heli gearing as plastic , a gear will cost you $50 - $100 where as if its metal and it doesnt give way if you crash or whatever , the repair on mounts etc would cost you a fortune and most cases youd never be able to lign it up properly again , in fact on this model youd probably crack the shaft off the turbine if it was a metal gear and it didnt give way .

JD

The owner of my LHS has an awesome chopper too... A couple of weeks ago he landed it upside down.
Pieces of carbon fibre rotors flew every where.
$2500 later and it's almost fixed. LOL
They tell me it looked spectacular!!

And I cried when I snapped my Mini-T chassis.

We've got a guy here on the Tweed who has a 2.4 metre 4 rotor jet turbine scale heli - can't remember the name of it, it's a scale of the largest heli in the world (the original has 8 rotors). To date I believe it's set him back 22K - scratch built. He also has jets worth over 28K - trashed one in a high speed inverted landing, nothing salvagable.

Me I'll stick to my RC planes (and cars), over 20 planes of differing types and 1 electric heli. + 2 iwavers and a TC4.... S*%t no wonder I'm broke... !yikes

He has to fly it at either Evans Heads Nth NSW or Coolum, Sunshine Coast. He does fly hi Heli from time to time at Round Mountain (Cabarita), Sunday mornings if he's there. All of his planes are big and exy. He has 3 or 4 golden era racers all with minimum 100cc twin cyl motors, and a 100cc powered Extra 300S aerobatic plane.

BTW Agree completely, the pain job is awesome. Love to see you fly it. Good heli pilots are great to watch!!!

RC planes don't have to be dear, you can get a complete package for between 300-400 new, includes basic 4 channel radio, trainer (almost ready to fly - minimal building) airframe and 46 size motor, all ideal to start on. Add a batter to start your glow engine and a starter, fuel and you're airborne. You'll always find someone willing to teach you until you can solo at your local club. (takes anything from a day to a couple of months, 1 day a week, min. 3 flights per day)

good heli pilot ???? i dont know , this is a different league so will not be doing tricks , in fact i want to buy a proper body for it so its fully scale .

the paint job is sensational , he wanted $700 for the canopy sprayed but after i told him it was out of the question and to put an unsprayed 1 in for me , he couldnt find 1 so gave it for free ... go figure .

4orce , your spot on in the RC pkane depo , if you join a club ( bout $200 max a year ) there are instructors there that would love to teach for free and infact with todays radio gear , most have a trainer plug on the back so you can keep the transmitter in your hands and if you get into trouble , hell flick the trainer switch on his remote to save it . Its all easy to learn these days . I remember 20 years ago when i learnt on my first plane , half the challenge of learning was to build it correctly , stuff 1 thing up and your flight charectaristics were all over the place but now with the ARF stuff , thats half the battle .

Adam .

This is one of my pylon racing planes. This one gets raced in the sportsman class reaching speeds of about 180kph (5-10metres off the ground). I was lucky enough to win the Qld State titles with this one last year. Scary thing is that I haven't had a chance to fly it since and I'm supposed to defend it in about 6 weeks...no chance !silly

I have faster planes, one does about 250kph (Advanced Sport class), managed to win that class last year too - again haven't flown it since either.

I'm in the process of getting the bits together for a, F400 class racer. 290+kph, 40 size engine, no nitro just 4 to 1 castor to methanol... !devil I'll need to do a little practice before I can fly it though, got to save a few bikkies too just quietly.

See ya...Mark

BTW, I've since changed the poxy wheels on the sport racer to a thin racing wheel made from white nylon discs about 5mm thick.

These guys are in a class called F3D, they reach speeds to 390kph. The guy in the middle on the ground is the current, and last 2 times world champ, from the Sunshine Coast. He was my spotter / caller for me last year at the state champs, he was a big part of me winning. !super

Caught Legionaires disease early in the year so I wasn't real well for a while and we sold our old house and bought a new one further up the Gold Coast. Just had other things I needed to attend to first. If all is well I'll take my practice race plane, similar to the black and green one, out this weekend. Not such a drama if I put it into the deck (still be pretty ticked though!!!)... It does happen from time to time, you just try to eliminate the probablility by keeping up the maintenance...

JD
17-08-2005, 08:59 PM
Wow, sorry to here about that disease, i dunno anything about it, so i don;t know if its a really bad one, or if its one that u can just take medication for. I hope you get better!

and get back out there flying your planes :)

4orce
17-08-2005, 09:19 PM
It's a REALLY bad form of pneumonia, no cure just have to let the body fight it. A bacteria called legionella (you catch this from either badly maintained airconditioning, potting mix, or in my case, mulch) gets into your lungs and just renders them useless, basically stops you from breathing and you can suffocate to death. I was lucky, it only affected one lung but I was one REALLY sick puppy for about 6 weeks and even now, 6 months later, I'm still not fit enough to pass my CAMS licence to race the superkart just yet - nearly though...

JD
17-08-2005, 09:34 PM
wow, that is lucky only one lung was affected. but very unlucky to catch it.

Can you just ditch that one lung comletely? Because you can survive perfectly fine with only one lung, or is it more complicated than that? or will the lung that was affected slowly heal back to 100%?

4orce
17-08-2005, 09:58 PM
Yep it's back clear now, the only prob is, is that the immune system cops such a kick in the guts that you tend to catch every little cold going around for a while. The actual disease itself was cleared in about 6 weeks, it's just getting back to where you can be around someone with a cold again without catching it. Seem to be almost there now though. Been about a month without catching anything.

back onto the topic....remote just remember, try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there!!! :-)

remotebandit
18-08-2005, 11:24 AM
Matto , if this topic drifts in topic , i am the starter of it so can assure you im not fussed so i give you permission to let it go , its all good mate .

Bages , i think i know what you mean there and have re-read a few times but its not sinking in but yeah , ill definately fly within 30 meters and definately keep it under 20 meters ... hehe .

yer i fly heli's aswell come in on saturday and ask for a demo if you want i also fly planes sometimes.

Electric is better than petrol in both planes and heli's

remotebandit
30-11-2005, 08:29 PM
hehe , MJ , electric is only good for when its raining and you want to fly inside as i do with my Kalt Wisper . Cant beat nitro for helis and Planes just due to the traditional raw power but thats just my opinion ... hehe .

MJ , the turbine has been very delayed now due to the 1:5 scale Bergonzoni and the Nomadio sensor system for it as this has sent me back over $2,500 after all the optional extras for it .

Ill definately keep you posted once i pick it up though and if i sell most of this stuff on ebay , it should be soon .

Adam

4orce
30-11-2005, 08:30 PM
Cleaner anyway, nothing beats the sound of the fuel motors though. Bit like the cars, prefer electric cause I'm sick of constantly cleaning the planes but the nitro's sound better...

remotebandit
30-11-2005, 08:44 PM
I fly pretty big stuff , 2 meter plus stuff so even if their was a brushless system out there able to give it a push , it would take many cells , and take allong time to recharge where as with nitro , i just need to refill the tank and go again .

4orce your 100% right on the cleaning issue , thats a bitch but on another note for those who havnt flown planes before the plane engines do run allot smoother that the Cars , most probably due to the much larger size engines ( 45 , 61 , 90 and it keeps going ) and also the fact they they have a massive prop that keeps the motor runinng instead of the small flywheel in the cars .

remotebandit
20-12-2005, 02:39 PM
in all honesty dan , ive got no ide what its worth or where to get it at this stage as i havnt looked into it too much . I do know its ALLOT more economical to run than Nitro Fuel as its heaps cheaper but not sure of exact costs .

WHen the bloke ive bought it off fired it up , it smelt exactly like the real Jet planes so id assume the same thing ???? but then ive heard of AV gas being used in planes so is this also another name for Kero or what , im not sure
