OK, for a while now I have had a few little things that needed attention on my Alpha 3. I have been putting of fixing them and just driving it regardless.
I paid the price in the end when I stripped the spur gear due to loose engine mount I CBF fixing

the screw hole on the mounting plate had become so big that the head of the screw holding the motor down could pull though. The remedy I found was to cut the sides off a raised washer and use that to stop the screw pulling through. Also used medium threadlock to secure.
Sorry about the bad pics, this was after running the car also.

Replacement of the spur gear is not hard but takes time because you need to take off the whole rear diff/suspension assembly

now the mesh is very good, after running the car for a while there was no sign of wear on the spur

Another thing I fixed was the loose exhaust. For those who have read my other posts you will know I stripped the thread in the exhaust tip. This is what I came up with;

I used a zip tie and ran it under the original exhaust support mount. Totally reversible and no whole drilled in chassis.

And lastly, I finally got the bumper back on. As the thread in the plastic was threaded after the crash I was going to use riviets to secure it back on.
I decided against this as the bumper needs to be removed when working on the front suspension so I would be continually drilling them out and the rivets I had were too short.
I brought some simple machine screws. It did an OK job.
soz for picture quality

That spur still looks useable to me. Does that exhaust move at all now? I wouldn't want to touch the tank.
Good job on the bumper.
its taken a fair chunk outa the teeth though, it looks like theyre worn down 50% easy?
Most people would stop using it at that stage or earlier but, it's still got some of the tooth left, enough to use it but that could be because I don't want to spend money on something that still works. I'd use that money for hop ups only to find later that the car doesn't run due to the unfixed problem. :p
I've "stripped" the spur on my Pro3, twice and I'm still using it. :D

Because I am still using the original exhaust mount AND the zip tie it is very secure. No chance of touching the fuel tank.
At $7 a spur gear it is not worth using that one. It would put more stress on the clutch bell which is a more expensive part. If I took a picture of the new one next to the old one you would think the same way.
I'll get a pic for you tonight if I get a chance
