Sunday 12th December - Enduro Race @ Blenheim Park (NSW)

This Sunday 12th December is the off road electric enduro race run by Sydney Radio Controll Off Road Car Club.

this is a race that is 90 minutes long which will test driver ability, stamina, and car durability

the track is in the grounds of Blenheim Park, North Ryde, below Tennis World Courts, Epping Road

the race starts at 10:30am.

so did you go, was it good? did you race? sounds like a nitro only race, to be 90min long. usually you have a pit crew that change your fuel for you so you dont have to get down off the radio stand thingo, etc.

nah, this was for electric and its done like this: a team is made up of 3 cars + 3 drivers and it works on a rotation system rotating car and driver in the 90 minute race. an electric car will last 7 to 10 mins on a battery so each driver/car change happens as the battery is dumping (dying). 90 minutes was a long time. it took a long time.

i only spectated for this one, i was a bit of a softcock and didnt want to put my car through that kind of presure. i walked away with no broken bits and no wear on my race car 8) , but i also missed out on a hell of a load of fun too :(

afterwards was the all-in-all race. every son of a gun was out there on the track, and there were these real evil laughs coming form the podium/rostrum - these fools were playing demolition derbys with their cars, their losi's, their team associated's! i couldnt beleive it! i have two cars, race car and parts car/runner and be stuffed if i was going to put my race car on the track to play smash-em-ups.... so out came the runner.... with bald tyres... to play smash-em-ups! bwhahah

i broke a rear shock, it was so much fun. i repaired the shock with CV glue (that instant stuff) and was back on the track in about 10 mins. i took the runner car for a spin up and down the road _just now_ and the shock is firm as a fist. "its all good".

i love this sport!!!!
