Hey drifters...
ive been keen on drifting for a while now. Some of you know i own a B4 buggy.. now i want another car.. a drift car... whats the best easiet to use/setup?? i read awd cars are the ducks guts... and id like either a series 5 or 6 RX7 shell or S14 or S15 silvia shell. Also how easy or hard is it to setup for road racing? Just shocks/springs/tyres??? I dont know...
So what chassis/motor...etc???
Need another new toy...
Got a B4.... bought a scooter to drive around to work and cruise the beaches/my car(real) is modded so im happy... now i need a drift/road car...
Thanks!
the TB-02 is a good starter.... i still have my chassis
it is a great way to get into it. plus not to expensive and plenty of avail mods...

Any 4wd car will do the job. You just need the right tyres. Most people will say to make ABS, PVC or polypipe tyres.
I got the HPI stage-d kit which comes with a grip set and a drift set of rubbers. I prefer the rubber drifters cos it's more realistic and you can get much better speed out of them. Only problem is that it's belt drive which means you will get little rocks stuck in the belt/gears, but as of yet, I haven't had a single one unlike others.
Before that, I had a HPI Pro4 drifter. Overkill yes, but was hella sexy.
And even before that, I chucked some PVC tyres onto my TB01 rally car and it drifted as good as any other car. I also used electrical tape over regular rubber tyres and that was better.

ABS is alot more fun on my stage-d i reckon justo. i agree that electrical tape is realistic but ABS is just as realistic as long as you drive it right and dont over-do the powersliding if you get what im saying?
I also find ABS to get similar acceleration speeds as electrical tape, i was really suprised. PVC is too slippery, Electrical tape is slightly too grippy, ABS is a perfect medium.
As for the rocks getting stuck and chewing the belt, simply cut off the plastic piece behind the diff so the rocks can fall out and problem solved! i use to chew up belts in 1 run but now the same belt has lasted me for over a month with not 1 sign of wear! :D

Like I said, I *still* haven't had a single rock :P

Hi, it depends on what your budget is, but i can recommend the following:
1) TT-01 (includng D and R variants) - 1 of the cheapest kits available
2) TC-3 / TC-4
3) TB-02
4) TA-05
they are probably some of the best kits out. with a shafty id recommend motor around 18t, but learn to drift with the stock silvercan before going 2 a lower turn motor as it can be quite difficult and u will need to adjust your pinion and spur gears to get a good final drive ratio.
ABS is probably the best bet for tyre choice, cheap and can last a pretty long time.
good luck, hope 2 see u drifting soon!
I have a TT-01D and ive upgrated the motor and speed controller the servo on the tt-01d's arent that brilliant but its a great first car to do mods and stuff to!
