familiar? yes, these are XX, XXX, XXX4 rear arms! the xxx4 manual doesnt even show these in the diagrams, it lists these arms as an 'option' part.. interesting :)

finished, everything except servo, electronics mounting and cutting/painting the bodyshell and wing. Brand new motor waiting for punishment! hehe :)

also starting to mount up a few sets of spare wheel/tyres for racing at the states :)

There's a $200 KO servo going in this car. OVERKILL!

a bash at the track? hehe, i think u mean RACE ... :)

I paid a decent bit under $500 for it... but it came to $530 after I bought a full set of holeshots, extra rims, sway bar kit, etc.. when u add cost of servo, motor, esc, receiver, it's about $1000

Jai and I painted the shell and wing yesterday, I'll get pics 2nite

James

$207 KO servo..! absolutely overkill for 1/10th elec... serious torque! hahaha. this thing is so hardcore you can plug it into your computer and program it! !bow it's going in the XXX4

GM Racing V4R esc, 14turn motor limit, weigh's 19 grams! Eventually this will go in my rock crawler, coz it has reverse, for now it goes in the XXX4 for the states :)

I finished the shell, cut it all out, etc.. the pics dont do it justice, i took them this morning it was pretty much dark... It's the tamiya colour flipping paint, with some black GT stripes down the top. My first ever mask/paint job! turned out nice, very happy.

looks stealth , who are you trying to hide from James ... lol .

All i know is that if i buy 1 , i wont have to read the instructions , ill just follow your thread and pix .

Very nice and personally , i dont know what their worth but if your telling me you picked up the kit with options ( minus electrics ) for around $500 , thats excellent .

James
20-09-2005, 10:15 AM
the boxed kit retails around $500. I paid less. :) anyway, thats not important, I would have paid almost anything, not easy to get!

I did notice one sitting on the shelf at Ryper last I was in, and a LOT of spare parts.

13Kg torque servo in a 1.6kg buggy?????

Dude, we use the 2344's in 5-6Kg E-Maxxs! !lol

Why didn't you go with a 2343?

James
20-09-2005, 10:32 AM

Nice choice of motor, same as what I now run in the Duratraxx, very impresssed with them so far :)

James

James

I discovered last night, after firing up the XXX4 for the first time, that the GM speedy doesnt like the KO servo. when you steer the servo, the motor glitches forward/backward... STRANGE... so I put the hitec hi-speed servo in.. will put the KO into the BK2.. argh, one thing after another.

gave the XXX4 a run out the front this morning to setup steering, etc... adjusted the slipper, rah rah. It's alive!

Nice one James!

I love the XXX4s, they look so damn hardcore, and they are QUALITY too!!!

James
21-09-2005, 11:07 AM
We will see how hardcore it is when it's on the track at the state titles.. :)

James
06-10-2005, 08:14 PM
hardcore enough to top qualify and take 2nd place overall in my class.. heh. not bad. no breakages...

not long after, and it's racing at ryper time.. fun fun fun, until I break the front pivot mount, possibly the single most broken part on these kits. you can get aluminium ones... infact someone find me one, I cant find them, anywhere....

James
07-10-2005, 09:31 PM

There is a young racer trying to sell his XXX-4. The car is usually down at West Coast model club (Bayswater) on a friday night. It should be there this friday. Ask for Chris Brown (Its not his, but his best mate is selling his)
