Bah :P
Deans connector involves a tiny bit of soldering, and a bit of heat shrinking...so about 5 mins.
The main problem for me is finding 5 mins :(

I always manage to do a good job of overheating my DEANS whilst soldering it, thefore bending the pins out of proportion and making it difficult to plug in/unplug batteries. *sigh*
Joe, using real DEANS or fake venom's ? the fakes look okay!... from what I've seen.
I've got some 'deans bars' laying around. was gonna make a matched cell batt pack a long time ago, never got around to it. one day. heh.
i use the fake deans connectors made by venon. they look the same, smell the same, probably do the same, and $3 cheaper for a male+female set.
its like tinned peas in the shops i think. the home brand is just like the SPC brand but without the fancy label and name?
jai... is there any regular drift sessions at the moment in perth? is this planned for next year at all??
I know the state 6 cell mod champion was trying to organise a get together on rcdrift.com I dunno if he did though. There's a few guys who race at Maylands who are interested in drifting.

Yes Matto it is possible!!!! haha i just hate to type prolly coz im shit at it.......
There is a purpose built road track being used for drift at the moment in Bibra lake @ RYPER models ( he is also a YOKOMO supplier) but they wont allow poly tyres as they are scared it will dig into thier track (boohoo) so Jai and i go to Belmont forum top car park as it is concrete wich happens to be ideal for poly tyres......
Ryper models were going to conduct a D1 Drift competition series at thier track but i dont think they have done any more about it....
i may enquire at the Ashfield track to see if there is any drift about to hapen there but for now just like the culture in Japan i think ill take it to the illegal side and stay on the street/park/carpark/skatepark/warehouse etc.
if anyone is interested in meeting up for a drift bash give us a call on 0400032487 (0400032GTR) and we will gladly meet up & drift.
Oh yeah James as you know im computer illiterate so that site idea may take a while unless your willing to donate your expertise...hint hint hahaha

wild....
Ross I just bought a TB-02, and some fruit. So I'm up for some sideways ackshun. (need to do some poly though).
I can easily help setup the new site. Look at this site, Matt and I set it up, works well. OR maybe you could use this site for your purposes... Have a whole OZD1RC section. all the right permissions to control it, etc.
Whatever, we can discuss later.
I'd say Ryper would allow drifting on their track if your using the yokomo drift tyres. hehe. a bunch of folk are heading to Ryper today actually, for some drift. I woulda gone to check it out, but work calls of course. heh
i run the venom versions and i dont have any problems with them so far.. except that i have wired them different to james so now we cant share batteries
faark didnt realise there was 2 pages to this post... hahahaha.... i think that it is ghey thet they wont allow poly on the track like its going to do damage.... but oh well there loss really, i think ross is right and for now the underground dift culture is good. dont wanna make it to comercialized... it will end up ghey real quick.
like james said tho.. who needs a track when you have a car park, some witches hats and maybe some piping to use as barriers. make our own track.
YEA DO AN RC BURNOUT!!!!!
