I was hoping you guys could help me out.

I am running in the 540 class out at Wodonga and one things ive found is that I have very little braking power with these motors. Is this normal?

I do my practicing with a stock motor and the braking seems to work fine, but when I put the 540 in, I get almost nothing - its more worthwhile not using brakes at all. This means that my driving has to be different to what ive been practicing with and this can get frustrating, not getting the corners the way I want.

Is weak braking power normal for these motors or should I look at adjusting the settings on the radio? I currently run both motors on the same channel settings and can have one memory setting for 540 and another for stock motor if this will fix the problem (radio has a 10 car memory)?

Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem and how have you fixed it?

set your braking power to 100% on the controller then re-program your ESC. see if that helps. You could also solder a diode to the motor, may or may not help

weak motor going forward, weak motor when coming to a stop. weak magnets. it will be weak overall.

kind of agree with matto. you need a schotky diode as mentioned in the other thread that matt posted about the novak GTX

what sort of track are you racing on? I didnt use the brakes ONCE during the on-road nationals here.. maybe thats why i came 5th. !lol

I'm racing on an off-road track, I dont use the brake much but theres parts where it would come in handy and the braking I have now doesnt match the drive power I get out of the motor

I have never used break once in my life.

Except when down at the local basketball court with sand on the ground with my tt01 trying to chuck wickedly awesome cool sick skids.......

I guess for off road hit the corner just a bit harder let the rear wheels slide guide you through the corner. rs540 is a nice motor but cant see where braking would be used however i have never used or even seen that track you are referrin to.
