G'day, I'm wondering if I'd be right to race this car at rypers or somewhere.

Has a few different bits from those pics (8turnt speedy, 12x2 wound motor, take-off #27's? on vtec rims)
Its quick, but just lettin it fly on a carpark is no fun.
Must get racing... !bow

It's electric, so no reason you can't run it at Rypers. What chassis is it?

Its a mod motor by the sounds of it, however you made need to make a few adjustements as the mod cars are very fast, if i were you i would get some practice down there throughout the week, if you go on that track for the first time in the mod class and you get in their way they will go ballistic at ya, plus you will prob get a car in the head from George or Rob ;-)
Dont have to drive like a pro but just make sure you can drive, you would want to get rid of those wheels as well, foamies or a decent set of rubbers would be a better option.
Point of attack for you would be to practice throughout the week, then check it out next weekend before you race. Your standard cell pack probably wont be enough and will have to invest in a 3300 pack. Might even be better to swap for a stock motor to race in the stock class? Anyways do yaself a favour and go check it out before you race.

Nah I've got a whole lot of crap for it for racing. Did my homework on it, and all tools, gp3300s and running gear I have will be shared with the T3 I run at bayswater.
So, practice practic priactice. Thanks for the advise.
Oh, and would you suggest running in the 19turn spec category for a week or two before chucking some better motors at it??

KingBob the chassis is a Colt design, twin deck with twin belts. It looks similar to a few twin belt mid-rear mounted motor chassis I've seen in more well known cars. Has slots for saddle-packs or you can mount a sidexside or stick perpendicular to the chassis a-la Tamiya.

There has been lots of talk about the 18/19 turn class at ryper but from what i know nothing is cemented in yet, apparently they used to have it there some time ago PLUS i saw some 18 turn pro Brood motors in the shop so i would say something is coming up soonish but i dont think next weekend.......
Yup definately practice! I have been racing stock for only 2 months, only 4 race days in total i dont think i could do the mod class yet, i still have the stock class to conquer first anyway :-)
Like me, you will need to configure gearing and ratios as well, so get those pinions ready :-) sounds like youshould be ok then in the parts dept which is a very useful thing!!

Might get a stock motor then. My god, I've run 4 years without a stock motor!

Change the shell, the BA Falcon is as bad aerodynamically as my Lancer EVO shell was, but yeah you'd maybe start in novice (against hacks like me) look at fitting up a Stratus shell and some good foamies. best ratio at Ryper is 7.35:1 I have found but I run the TT01 at 6.85 with a sports tuned motor and it's pretty brisk.

Actually nexxus that might be the best ratio for your given car, but maybe not for others. The internal diff ratio, and motor wind choice will determine the ideal gear ratio.
I'm going to run stock at Rypers to start with, a 19T spec class would be good practice before moving to mod.

Hrm, change the shell? That was one of the reasons for me to buy this car! I'm a Ford man thru and thru ;) I'm sticking with the shell.
Anyway, its gonna be up to me to get a nice gear ratio as even within the same car categories its different strokes for different folks.

Sounds like me when I first raced with the Evo shell, I learnt the hard way, good thing with Ford is there are other models which can be used that are more aerodynamically sound!

I would change the shell just to keep that one perfect. With the concrete and limestone around the track, I wouldn't want to risk wrecking the shell. (And I am a Holden Fan as Well!! !burnout )

Yeah, I don't race TT01 with my AU Lowndes shell!
