Hey everyone.

I have a motor that is really nice and dont want to part with it except last friday the expoxy holding the magnets onto the can came loose and is now rubbing on the armature.

Does anyone have anyexpirience on how to re epocy magnets or techniques on how to do it.

Cheers

one of the guys at ryper had this problem on sunday. and i over heard dave say to just superglue it. otherwise a small amount of epoxy on the back of the magnet then push it to where u want it to be rub it back and forth (you should be good at that) to get the air bubles out. make sure it's pressed tight and find something to jam in there to press it on. then just leave it for a day while it dries fully.

This raises another issue actually and its purely for my own curiosity .

If the magnet was offset a few mm , will it put the motor out meaning timing . Hard to explain what i mean but when you turn the shaft , you can feel the dead spots and by missaligning the magnet will it cause in between dead spots .

Shit im hopeless at expl;aining things , im gonna call myself JD from now on

just epoxy it in if it isn't right put the can in acetone over night and try again the next day!!!!!!!!

I would suggest sanding the can and magnet back a little so it sticks nicely otherwise you will be doing it every week

RB i know what you mean... and yea you could be right, might change to push/pull magnetism.... but you wont know till you put it back together

most of the motors have a clip or spacer that separates the magnets so it won't change anything and you can see where it cam out becaue there will be glue left on the motor where it came off

i expoxyed the magnet on one side and went kick ass at bayswater last night until i was hit by KB and the other magnet came loose so i got to exoxy that one now.

anyway the exposy held well.
