a straight front axle (a locked diff) is sold as an expensive hop up part for TC3's.

how does it change the driving of a car that would have a solid frony axel. if its a hop up, it must be OK ?

comments and thoughts?

I'll give it a shot! !silly

I understand its a front diff. But Why do drag cars have spools? Even power to both wheels anyone?

Guess its the same in RC. However, onroad - when cornering I think the car would push harder with a front spool. If it was offroad the front end would "pull" the car around the corner.

At the nitro on road and think all the racers run a front one way which I think is sorta like a spool. Smoother cornering maybe? Wish I knew exactly the reasons but I just run what everyone else runs. Cat3000 will prolly know more

A front spool does make the car push going into a corner, both on and off power. But it allows you to use breaks which a oneway does not. The spool will then pull the car through the exit of a corner the same as a oneway, but better than a diff will. So it is kind of mid way between a diff and a one way. Great for tight twisty tracks for charging into corners, jumping on the brakes and then powering all the way out. It depends on your driving style. If you are a smooth driver go the oneway, if you are aggressive and use breaks a lot go the spool if it is a tight track. On long smooth flowing tracks a oneway will be faster.
