a couple of my mates bought a 1/10 electric each and bought a 13t and 15t engine respectively one is a smartech (13t) the other is a viper (15t) both are tub design chassis

both of these cars blew rear diffs in the first couple of days
where the shaft inside the diff casing joins the gear
this is a two piece item the shaft looks like steel and the gear is aluminium (is this the norm) the shaft was spinning and not being turned by the gear hence no drive to rear wheels

i was thinking whether there are one piece items out there to solve this problem or a way of strengthening the original ?

which car's do they have? if it's a common brand there is generally a hop-up avail or some kind of gearset out of another simular car that's better. I'd check with that first.

Otherwise, they better stock up on parts :)

yes event tamiya cars mash stuff. generally there are hop up's however... I think the best thing to do would be dismantle the broken bits, inspect then and see if they can be assembled so they wont break or something. make sure the right grease is being used, etc...
