my r/c truck is only a week old but the last couple of runs i noticed it wasn't turning left very well.....on closer inspection the steering servo is turning right to full lock ok but when turning left it goes about half way then sounds like it keeps turning but no movement.......is there any adjustment i can make? or do you think the servo is rooted.....i'll be making a visit to the hobby shop tomorrow if it is..... :(

its a traxxas nitro sport truck

take the servo out of the car and turn it left <--> right to see if it swings both ways with full movement.

you may have something stuck in the steering setup, and the servo saver might be kicking in which would give the sound of the servo moving but show no movement.

for this one, take the servo out of the car and let us know the results.

matt.

Take the servo apart......you may find that you've stripped some of the gears off the servo.

Easily fixed though, you can either buy new gears for it, or just get a new servo which isnt an expensive exercise, unless you get a coreless digital high torque servo which can cost you over 200 bucks :P

on the topic of servo's. Joe, would you recommend a digital servo, say if your running a JR XS3?... I'm gonna get me an XS3 soon (must have crystaless) and I'm considering digital servo's. although the JR comes with some half decent servo's i spose.

Balistic you were right......took my truck to the hobby shop today....the gears in the servo were stripped...only cost $20 for them to fix but I'll be giving it a go my self if it happens again

Its worth running digi servos with the XS3, because the XS3 has a feature where a digital servo can be run at a faster rate, to maximise its speed.

Digital servos are always much nicer than ordinary ones :)

I have a high-torque Hitec 5645MG digital in my Sav, and its awesome :)
