The on-road states is only 7 weeks away!
This event is being held at the Ryper facility in Bibra Lake. For more information see : http://www.geocities.com/ryperraceway/
The control tyre for this event will be:
Take-Off CS32, Take-Off MEDIUM insert, Speedmind 24mm white dish rims.
Tyres must be glued infront of an official and handed in to be marked/inspected before racing. All other AARCMCC rules apply. (attached)

Please note these rules are the very latest, released 29-12-05.
The battery list hasnt changed in this revision, the 3-month wait rule on batteries still applies until challenged by AARCMCC affiliated clubs. This means new IB 4200's, GP4300's and lipo batteries are NOT allowed despite being or almost being IFMAR legal.
also.. Group 20 motors are no longer legal for the Senior's classes. The motor's for these classes are the 19 Turn "Spec Class" motor, details listed in section 4.6.0 of the "Batteries and Motors" rules. (although i doubt we are running a seniors class at the states)

Chen, I dont see why you cant run a black speedmind rim, it would be really stupid if it HAD to be white. maybe clarify this with Ryper. I'm about to place an order for speedmind rims. I'm pissed that the RIM is controlled, because I can get loads of the new YEAH RACING white/black dish rims (which are IDENTICAL to the speedmind dish!)
I can only assume the rim needs to be white so the official can mark the rim with a marker once passed tech.

Time to stock up on traction compound and tire warmers. It may be too cold for cs32's by march comes around. Not that it matters as everyone is in the same boat.
Hope I get better than 3rd in the B's this time round

Just an extra little note incase anyone is somewhat confused about the control tyre rule.
The controlled tyre rule is new for AARCMCC this year. It basically means that the tyres run at the event will be the same for everybody. The actual tyre, insert and rim is chosen by the club (decided by VOTE of members) not decided by AARCMCC or any distributer or shop. It's decided by the MEMBERS by way of vote (with of course consideration of what will work best at the facility)
The Tyre/insert/rim combo can be purchased anywhere you so desire. your local hobby shop, or a shop in Iraq... whatever.
The assembly of the tyre/insert/rim will be done under official/scruitineer supervision and then marked by that person (for race approval).. This process is of course to ensure there's no cheating the rule :) (i sure hope the officials have some patience for me coz i take ages to glue touring car wheels HAHAHA !lmao )
If anyone has any questions about it, you can ask your local club committee members, AARCMCC officials, or do some light reading of the AARCMCC rules or various web forums.

Couple of things
1. There is no seniors class in on-road. This only applies in offroad.

Couple of things
2. Tyres have to be bought from the club running the event (AARCMCC rule 3.8.6 of Section 3: Electric Onroad, Technical rules). This is done to ensure as much as possible that the tyres are all from the same batch.
Sorry Ben,
just yesterday we got permission from AARCMCC to overide that rule. They have to be opened and glued in front of a Ryper Raceway official, then handed in straight away till the meeting.

Dave mentioned something about Ryper being able to glue them up for us, I mean, I know how I am gluing tyres, and unless the official can wait 1-2 hours for each set because thats how bad I am at this, can we just ask to buy a preglued set, or a glued up set by the relative official?
i think its getting over the top what can you do glueing tyres??
anyway its the rules and i reckon it would be a good idea just to get some officials to glue them for us save time and glue.

really people, how hard is it.
Peel the rubber back, glue, rotate, start again.

thin (pink) CA glue is fun to work with. It dries fast and works its way around the tire really good thanks to capillory action.

Maybe people are glueing in a hot room and are enjoying the fumes ;)

I can see both sides here, MJ's suggestion would ensure that the tyres are all legit for sure, but from a Ryper point of view, who wants to glue tyres all day?

That and you can't blame the officials for glue on tire surface if you stuff up the glueing process

I can see it now:
'Bloody hell Ben, why did you glue a piece of paper on the outside of the tyre."

I have been known to have glued a set of tire to a table in the past.....

I'd have to say the Titan Racing glue is the best I've used to date. one squirt into ea wheel bead on ea side, and it's done. reeeally simple :)

Should be heaps of fun, and with no sheepstations on the line, no pressure :D

LOL Isn't it always the part you don't have that breaks? I could have 5 spares, and the one part I didn't have would be the one to go hahaha.

at least you dont own an XRAY car which A) costs the earth to start with, B) parts cost the earth, C) there are no T2 parts on this earth. (well, very few).. *sigh*.. break my car, event over.
did some warm up laps today, scrubbed in the new tyres.. changed the car setup a tad coz the track was strange.. got it dialed, took it off, packed it up.
I'm looking forward to some really good racing. I know at events like this people are really dialed into their racing, and generally pretty polite on the track.. !rockband
hope to bring esky, ice, drinks, maybe some grub.. it's gonna be a long one!!!!

I think if I keep my cool I'll be fine, the car is set up well, equipment level would rival a lot of the stock cars just let the hackers through, and wait for the crash hahahahaha.
Oh and note to self, don't like the marshalling simple simple solution. DO NOT CRASH!

2 days of tiring racing, we all need Monday to recover! Congrats to James top stock driver and condolances to Matt missing the A main by under a second :( Dan did very well in 540 as well! Also nice to see some TA05's getting somewhere, top mod, 3rd in stock and 3rd, 4th, 5th snd 6th in 540 class. Personally would have liked to have done a bit better but had fun and learnt heaps! First race on a very promising 3 Racing TA05 carbon chassis :)

Raced at states, went home, drank beer, went to sleep. Then spent monday slaving around the house, painting, doing all sorts, booo.
Was a fun weekend, was DAMN HOT though! urgh. Pretty happy with my win. (my first win at a big event too)
