anyone have any experience, or perhaps some URL's pointing to some electric motor rebuilding tips?
lathe'ing the comutator, spring and brush types, etc?
I'd like to get into building my own custom motors, hand made, hardcore style.

so how'd that go for you James? Get any positive results ?
I Had too knock up some ODD BALLS as spare motors for Carine interclub after I fryed my brushless speedy and could not afford to replace it in a hurry. One just plain would not work! the second ran for about 3 packs befor its performance dropped off then stopped, But the third works a treet,it's a 13 tripple Intrgy amature in an old Kisby can,and I dont know weather the endbell was the correct one either.LOL. Ive read this and heard that n figured I'd just give it a go.The one that works good isnt shimmed corectly persay, but she hasent jammed up from a crash yet. Dont have a hood alinging tool either so that didnt get done. Shes turning out to be a good motor so far Im pleased as. Although I wasnt after a wicked kick arse motor like you were,I just wanted a reliable spare/practice/club motor.
