Hey guys,
After smahing the muffler (yes smashing the plastic) last weekend I have been looking for a replacement exhaust. I went out on a limb after reading reviews on big block exhausts on tamiyatrucks.com and put a .28 exhaust on my .18 engine.
The truck now rips and is has a much faster top end, the idle is smooth but the mid range is slightly less powerful. I have leaned out the mixture becuase it was blowing a bit more smoke than normal.
I have a couple of questions.
Is the the higher revving engine going to make the engine over heat?
does white smoke mean the mixture is still nice and rich?
here is a pic, the .28 muffler is only 2.5 cms longer than the stock one.

Best to get a temp gauge m8... to hard to test stuff if you not sure on the engine temps.. even in tunning....
I expect a higher reving engine will bring the temp up.... but anyones guess how much up the temp will be.... invest in a temp gun m8..

ok will do, If BB has still got that smart temp Ill get it off him at the next bash.
as a general rule of thumb though, white smoke = rich mix?

slappy smoke whilst running at a high rev range means running nice. more smoke more rich less smoke lean. you'll know it it is running too lean as it will refuse to start after a stall if it is too hot.
