1/18 racing down at WC

last week saw the biggest turnout of 1/18s (well for me anyway) on a race night! and it rocked!

8x 1/18's wooooot! We had Mini-t's, RC-18T's and half-8's !! yeh!

I gathered everyone had fun racing (cept for me cos i couldnt get my bloody pinion to stay put. yeh yeh.. lame i know..) Still it was great watching everyone go hell for leather in them little packages.

Hey i remeber prior to last week's 1/18 race, there were a bunch of little kids with mini-ts!! if anyone know them folks, spread the word to get them back on track (pardon the pun)

Personally, I found it a bit difficult to manage 2 classes on the night (1/10 and 1/18)... especially when running directly one after another! yikes!

However, I am dead keen on continuing racing 1/18 down at west coast though, but am thinking of alternating between 1/10 and 1/18 racing...

so..... Im proposing using this thread as a call to race for 1/18's down at WC...

Last Friday counted as the first "announced" 1/18 race...I put down 24/2/2006 as the next 1/18 race night...

thats not to say 1/18's cant run if ppl bring them doen this this friday... :)

but its always nice to have the numbers to make a proper 1/18 class... instead being squashed in with the 1/10 class..

what do y'all 1/18 owners think?

ps. next 1/18, Sempati and I will be racing with our Mini-LST !burnout

As we've always said, you bring em, we'll race em :)

If the majority of 1/18 drivers who are running 2 classes are also running 2wd for example, and they let me know, i can arrange the classes so there is a gap between them. Obviously if theres a mix between novice/2wd/truck etc, it'l be a bit hard to do.

yeh thanks KB.. well as far as I know it will be quite difficult to come to a good arrangement for all..cos as you predicted, most of us that have 1/18's are also running in novice / truck / 2 and 4wd...

unless we can run it after the EMAXX class.. hahah..

mate im keen to run the 1/18 but ill still run in truck maybe a little longer in the break before the mini t race and after the race its just alittle bit of mucking around to swap over

I'm excited!

I had such a blast racing Mini-T, not only cos it was hella fun and people seem to have a great attitude about racing in general (laughs and good times, even when people crash into each other!), but everyone was so damn helpful to a noob like me!!

I'm keen to race 1/18....there are HEAPS of people with Mini-Ts, MLSTs, RC18Ts, Half8s, etc, so why not bring em and use them the way they should be used!? This could even be a permanent fixture to race meets, if there is enough interest!

Maxd, week before last there were 8!!! last week there were 4..some bummed out before the night finsihed..2 by the end of the night.. Ive yet to decide to run the MLST or the mini-t tomorrow night. most prob the MLST..

Same, but won't be this w/end still got a bad battery (Venom) in the MQ and am not happy with the punchiness of the 6V Speed 400 off 6 cells. Waiting on a high RPM M18T motor and some IB1200's

ok. had the mini-t out last night. thought id be good to run her as stock'ed as possible. well big sucky poos:

1st race broke a rear hub carrier
2nd race - broke a turnbuckle cupball holder thingo, CVD bent, titanium turnbuckle twisted.

Geeezus...I didnt think I was that crazy with my driving!??

so had enough and switched the MLST for 3rd quals and finals. MLST handed well, but stock setup is slooooooow.

MINI-T: blings goin back in, and back to R&D mode
MLST: Bigger powerplant needed...

Oh well, I'll have 2 weeks to sort all that shit out..

yeh.. big dissapointment for me tonight as well.. we dont have enough for a class...+ I just finsihed getting the mud off her form 2 weeks ago! still muddy!!!! no fun when the track is puddled with mud. My MIni-T FA just gets drowned cos its so heavy!

Before I sold mine, I was running 30weight oil in with the stock springs. The hopped up 3racing shocks came already oiled, so I didnt bother to change it. there are two other regular MLST drivers down at WC i know of..
