View Full Version : Ryper Onroad track conditions please Help
Hey.
I am currently rebuilding from scratch my TC and want to build it for rypers track but need to have a starting point.
So if you have driven on it can u please tell me whats its like.
e.g. bumpy, smooth, flowing, tight, grippy, anything that can help me set this thing up for this track.
Also what gear ratios are people using.
all help greatly appreciated.

Want to start with a ratio of 7.2-7.5 using Stock, firm spring set up front and soft springs at rear, 5-6mm ride height works well. Fairly technical track which often lacks grip (due to offroad track next door)

It'll be interesting to see the grip tomorrow, with the rain and all.

Yeah, going to be 26 degrees so I'll use 32's tomorrow (used 37's last week and was ok) was borderline on getting some 27's but should be fine.

Hey MJ,
The track overall is smooth, however there are bumps where the extension of the track was added. There are about 6 joints in total I think.
There is very little grip due to dust blowing off the offroad track, but after a few races and a racing line develops the grip in the line would be medium (If that makes sense !whistle ).
For stock, I use a gear ratio of 7.93, this gets the motor bloody hot so maybe try 8 - 8.1 if you don't want to burn your fingers !lmao .
Heres a pic of the track: http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=94203

I run a FDR of 7.5 - 8 in stock depending on the ambient and track temp. 5.5mm ride height, and 1.5mm droop front and about 3.5mm droop rear. soft'ish spring on front, and very soft spring on rear. 1mm neg camber all round, 0.5 toe out front, soft (flex) chassis.
I change my car's whole setup two or more times a week *due to racing totally different tracks* and find that I never get my car the same on each change.. bogus.

mine is pretty much the same besides the soft flex chassis ;-)
Mj-concentrate on getting as much grip in the rear as you possibly can, ride height droop toe in to cater for a VERY slippery rear end and go for soft springs in the rear...
The first few qualifiers are terrible to race in due to the amount of dust in the track however the last two races of the day are always very easy as the dust has settled off from the race lines....
