Well guys TCS 2006 is up and running. Not much has changed from last year the rules basicly remain the same, the exception to the will be the introduction of the DF03 in buggy and that class will remain the same with only 4wd cars involved. The only other thing in keeping with Europe and Asia is that GT1 will be limited to TA05 and TB02 cars. So top end cars will not be allowed.
The track will remain Castle Hill with looking to use a different track interstate in 2007.
The finer pionts will be out layed in the rules when I finish modifying them and approval for this year.

Kinda sux not being able to use the 'top end' chassis (415MSX, Evo4), should still be a good event.

Tamiya Cup is on the 22nd and 29th August 2006 at PRECC.

I think last year, stock was Sports Tuned and GT1 was Tamiya 23 Turn

Does anyone know if Mini will be a Championship or Demonstration class like it was last year.

Hi Guys to answer your questions. Yes the event wil be held at Castle Hill again this year.
Motors are the same as last year, 540 and sport tune for mini and stock I'm think of changing off-road to 23T from sport tune we wil have to see and GT1 will be 23T. You guys will have wait till I post all the rules in the next few weeks. I have heard that a competition is being organise for you guys in WA for the trip across but is up to the local hobby shops and TT. You don't to enter and win to take part in the National Titles you can come across on your own bat as well as some of guys have done in the past.

I'll try keep you guys up to date with what is happening with TCS on the eastern sea board. As I am watching to other sites as well.

Basically it's possible that if you WIN a class at the Perth TCS, you might be granted a trip to Castle Hill to compete there.

I believe if you win at Castle Hill you might be granted a ticket to JAPAN TCS.

excited? :)

Hi Guys yes we should have the rules up by the end of the week if not sooner. Have a meeting with Toy Traders Monday morning and if there is no changes we should have them up in a day or so. We are hoping to have a new look web site as well giving you guys more info on what is going on. Both on the national titles and the state side as well. So please keep looking out for it.

We need some feed back on what you think of the new header for this year. Also the idea of incorpating the state titles into the national titles web site to keep everyone up to date all over Aus on what is going on. Also I have a bit of video from last years TCS for one of Castle Hills own Jay Cottell who put this together for US. Its 39 mg so be carefull, it it doesn't work any suggestions on how you guys can see it.

Hi Trevor, i might have missed it in the rules... but regards to bodyshells for the TCS, as long as it looks like a Racing Team design (real or imaginary) its ok right?

or does the design of the body shell need to follow the original design that was intended for the car. ie. a Raybrig NSX must look like a real Raybrig NSX and not "insert name here" Racing Team ??

Birky
21-06-2006, 08:36 PM
Shadow,

From TJ on RcTech.net:

To answer your questions the rules about bodies is that you can paint your body with any scheme you want but you must show that it is a normal car eg no painting over windows only if it is black or some other colour that will define the window pattern all so show lights and other governing feature. In other words to make it look like a car.

Alex
22-06-2006, 05:13 PM
excellent.. right. now to get on with "Smash'Em Racing" designs .... hmm how many Smash'em drivers are out there now... !lol

Hi Guys:
I was wondering if we might be able to know how is coming this year. We need you guys and gals to get your entry forms in earlier that has been stated on the entry forms. We have booked the 30 rooms but now the hotel wants a permantent booking earlier than two weeks before this years event. So if we can get your entry forms in by the beginning of September that would be great. The reason behind it is that the hotel has two wedding that weekend an dthey don't want to end up with 15 rooms left vacant if it can be helped.
Thank Guys

To all the perth TCS racers, congrats to everyone that made the show! and especially to

Sheridan Ball - concourse winner
Dave Foulkes - Stock 1st
Joseph Hall - GT1 1st
James Mandy - Mini 1st
Dave Simms - Offroad 1st

Good luck with Sydney!!

I just thought i'd take the time now to thanks the guys that helped me out through the various TCS races....as I was speechless and in shock when i was announced Third getter.

I think i was babbling and fumbled my words. eek. thankgod i wasnt captured on cam!

anyway..

Thanks to Ryper Dave, James, Toby for all the advice and tips with how to race on carpet. I had no idea!

Thanks to Matto for the tyre warmers. They helped heaps and regained my confidence with traction on the track.

Thanks to all the Smash'em Racing crew for the support and encouragement. u all know who u are ;)

Thanks to all drivers who made the sport competitve and exciting to race with. Some real dog fights on the track last night!

You are all prob thinking why im making such a big deal in coming third, but personally its a big achievement for me..as i havent really been involved in onroad racing all that long.. and certainly not on carpet.

ok enough of my rant. OUT. :D

Congratulations to all winners and hope to see you all over on the other side of Australia in a months time. Its a pity that Sheridan didn't make it, I heard that she won on carpet. There has been some information posted on tech talk and will be put up on the web site tomorrow in regards to the DF03 and mini. Also we are trying to get figures in sport tune motors as Tamiya America did this year to try to equalise the stock and mini field. That will be posted in the next week. Hope you all had a great time and well done to Toby and the two clubs coming together for one corse.

Hi guys, here is the layout for the TCS this year. The jumps will be removed for the other classes. We will be finalising the accommodation tomorrow so if you are coming and you haven't let us known please get in contact with us today or tomorrow. From the drivers that one in WA we have only one driver that hasn't contacted us and if you are coming and have already posted your entry it would be good idea if you just send us a message that your entry is on its way.

Thank you

On behalf of Linda and myself I would like to thank all those drivers that attended the meeting. I would also like to thank specially all those people that helped out to make the event happen. A lot of time and effort went in to putting this together as only people that put these together would understand and I'm very grateful for their support. With the help for the weekend and the first cleaning of the surface till the last paper put in the bin, I would like to thank Bob Deeth and Ian Webber. Ian raced as well but Bob helped out and did everything he could to help us put the event together. In scrutineering we would like to thank Scott (who after 6 years of controlling it I would have thought he would have told me what to do with the job), not just on the day but six months before the event to organise the rules to put up with the consistent questions and answers and researching into products and parts. Also Noel, Calvin and Liam for travelling an hour and a half every day to help out in scrutineering. To Peter Ellis and the band of merry men (Bob, Barry and Brad) for controlling the races. The meeting went as smoothly as it could go with as little hold ups as possible and with their support in handling the at the moment situations of drivers, I believe that this held the meeting together and made everything as fair as it could be for all drivers. I would like also to thank Ken Scalley for turning up and giving me a break in some of the lower finals, especially with what he has on his plate at the moment. It was a great honour to have Mr Alycat's support at this event, his program went as faultlessy as it has for me in the past three years with all the events I have run. Also to Tim Wessel for being a just there to help out, as far as I know he was helping out in doing everything he could.
Congratulations to all the winners and those that are going to Japan - you will will have a great time. Commiserations to the losers, we hope you will come back next year and try again. A special thanks to Toy Traders for their support of the event, and to Tamiya also - without them there would be no event.
