Well my motor stopped working half way through a pack.
I took it out the car, comm looked fine, so are the brushes.
WHAT COULD BE WRONG??? (By the way its a Br00d 19t).
process of elimination time.
is there voltage getting to it from the speedy? (use a volt-meter to test)
will the motor run when plugged directly to a battery pack (or motor run in mode if your charger supports this)
are the brushes firmly against the comm (use a pin or small screw driver and apply pressure to your brushes)
tell me how you go.
matt.

1. No idea, I plugged it into a battery to test what was going on.
2. No, it doesn't work when plugged into a battery.
3. This makes no change.
Other info: when I apply power, the blue light on the motor ones on, but it doesn't move.
have you tried to clean or rebuilt or do any sort of motor maintenance prior to this happening?

Dave (from rypers) gave it a comm cutt about 4 runs before it stopping.
I give it a spray and lube the breaing every now and then.
Could me loosing anything from inside stop it from working? If so what could I loose?

Try another motor on that speedy, eliminate that as a cause.

Lol, I dont give a shit about the speedy at the moment. All I care is the motor gets working, and I know the problem is the motor (it dont work when I hardwire a pack to it).
thats right, you tried the motor direct on a battery so its pretty obvious the speedy is not the issue.
what would i be doing? i would pull it apart (the motor), clean it (cleaning a motor in peices is better than spraying a motor thats built) and put it back together all nice.
just one thought: i have seen this happen to two motors before. 1 had a problem with the brushes and the 2nd had a problem with the timing (it was advanced too far, winding it back fixed it)
its hard to diagnose without actually seeing the motor, but i hope these few pointers offer some more help?
keep us posted :)

So are you saying it could be tuned to far one way?
I'll tell you what I see when I pull it apart (I'm not a total noob with motors, but I'm by FAR no expert). I undo the end bell and take it off. The the armature comes out. It only has 1 small rubber O-ring on each end, that's all there is. Is anything missing?
Could it be a help if I posted some pics? If you want pics what do you want them of (like what area's of the motor?).

I have had this happen to two of my motors running P94 size brushes that I beleive those motors use. The tolerance on the brush tubes is quite tight, any dust and dirt in there and the springs do not have enough pressure to contact the brushs on the comm hard enough. Give the tube a thourough cleaning, and check the brushes move in and out smoothly and loosely without any play and you should be good to go.

When I push the brushes onto the comm, it moves really slow, and hisitates lots. This means it's my brushes right?

FFS, go down to Ryper and have a run today, plenty of guys there who'd be able to help you out... oh right, you don't race. my bad!

Pomabroad has experience with the brushes youre using, Id take his advice - the brushes are to move in and out freely, very freely.
Remember my original checklist? are the brushes making good contact to the comm? sounds like it might be your issue.
Pull it apart, clean it and clean it well. Check that the brushes do move in and out freely and try it.

I was down at rypers today... I saw some shit magna outside, and some wierd guy sitting by himself in a corner, that was you wasn't it nexxus?
Thanks for your help matt, I pulled her all apart, and cleaned everything. Brushes move in and out fine, but still no luck.
I might just take it down with me to rypers and ask someone to help me, maybe Dave might have an idea.
Thanks, matt. Nexxus, don't comment unless it's nice.

Exactly. I think bashing around is heaps fun by itself. Besides, though racing is fun it is also more expensive.

I enjoy going to race's and not racing aswell. Sometimes spectating can be just as exciting as racing :)
i myself disagree
i cant bare to watch most races(exept the mod nationals final)
i think it is very boring watching. but driving in a race nothing can beat.
