Not sure if MJ is still selling his but he had a Pro 4 hara edition :O well it was upgraded to hara specs.
I have an Xray fk 05, they are a great car and parts are easy to get a lot of guys @ Ryper use them. But do some checking on what ever u buy and make sure parts are easy to get. plus if lots of people have them it makes setting up the car easier.

Also depends what you're going to use it for, if it's going to be a backyard basher get a TT-01 or something cheap, be like Mike who'll never see a race day for fear of having his ass handed to him :) If you're looking to race, the XRay's are VERY popular and race proven.

meh, no sense of humour.
Considering his offroader is a desert gator, maybe a TB02 would work? Good price, adjustable and raceable but also able to bash around with some degree of durability.

There is nothing like steeping out of your comfort zone and going nuts on a high quality rc car. My onroad experience started with tamiyas and then to a Pro 3, TC3, then Pro 4.
The Pro 3 was an awesome jump cos I had never had such a high quality car.
The TC3 was a boring step which is why I sold it very soon after.
The Pro 4 was another huge jump. All carbon and alloy parts. Front one way was ridiculous as I had never used one before.

I only ever bashed outside my house or in a nice carpark. The better quality cars made it more fun cos they handled better. Anything over 500 is way too much though.
Put it this way too, if you take care of the car, you can get more money back if you decide to sell a higher echelon car as opposed to a tamiya.

xray t2 is a good car so is the rdx, but parts are not cheap.

Agreed but if it's going to see bashing action, TB02 is more durable (shaft vs belt drive) but hey, I have had Yokomos, Losi's etc and the TA05 is by far the best I have used.

Depends what you want to do like everyone says.
But if you just want to try it out to see if you like it and have a play with mates etc.
