Well, upon disassembling my Savage's stock Nitro Star S-25 engine, I found that the head button and piston seemed blackened and scorched....not good.

Secondly, the piston, when at TDC, still allowed a bit of movement in the conrod/crank, which is obviously the cause of a loud "clicking" noise that I would hear when turning the engine off. This indicates a worn wrist pin, or conrod bearing.

Thirdly, the liner would NOT come out of the block, no matter HOW HARD I TRIED......it was stuck.

All of this was due to beating the piss out of the engine. I used to look after the engine, then after I decided NOT to sell the Savage, I decided to beat it until the engine dies, to be replaced with a new one.

WELL...

I just ordered a new engine!

Its called an SH .28

For those who dont know, they make the Mach .26, and the XTM 247 engine, which are highly regarded in Monster Truck circles, as ultra high performance, reliable engines.

The SH is the latest and greatest, and after reading a 34 page thread on Savage Central forums, no one has seen a motor that has made so much power, for such a little price.

The quality of the parts are amazing, and one thing that impresses me, is it has less ports than most other engines, and leaves a lot of meat on the liner to allow for massive porting, yet it still makes more power than pretty much anything else!! Its "rated" at 3.5hp, and many people believe that its near enough to it, because it walks all over engines rated at 2.9HP!

176 dollars shipped, from Hong Kong!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to receiving it and bolting it in ;)

Not sure yet, I might buy it and keep it stock, with just a rebuilt motor, for my girlfriend.
