OMFG guys , these things are amazing .

Fully proportional Micro RC planes . They are so small they fit in the palm of your hands .

I flew it around tonight for about 5 min utes but will have a proper play tomorrow when the misses aint home .

Being micro , they will not fly outside as the tiniest of winds will blow it away but i was flying it around the lounge room and it goes grouse , the proportional throttle and steering is amazing and works 100% .

THey are made of some type of flexible foam that you cant break , it bends round itself like rubber but wont break so you can slam it against the wall as i have as hard as you want .

I love it .

Gday Rb as Mik was saying weve been having a ball with these little aircraft, ours are the same brand as yours, the wings are wider as their not Biplanes but the bodies are the same, biplanes were available in the single packs but not in the twin packs for $50.The one with 3 wings flys really well even in light wind.We have been getting 15min plus fly times and found with a little bit of weight up front they take a lot more throttle to climb and this has enable us to fly these really well outdoors in up to about 10km winds.Pretty cool hovering one of these into the wind 1 foot from your face.

Grrrrrr! Vampyre and I spent half our day searching for these damn things! Whats the packaging look like and what brand are they?
All we could find were airhogs, but they were just similar looking electric or air powered rat racers! We went to two or three BigW stores and multiple others (Toy Kingdom etc) inbetween jobs..

All the planes shown on this page are the X-TWIN branded items. The ones purchased in Perth have come from various "Toys R us" stores around the Metro area.Packaging is quite large for the size of the plane but dont have any to show you ,just ripped them out of box then staight outside, for some minature RC flying goodness

im back in the city tomorrow so if anyone wants any , please let me know by tomorrow morning and ill pick up a few from my big W ( $29.99 each ) .

Their not heavy so i could get 4 packed in 1 parcel and sent to Perth for about $25 id assume so if you can get a few people , postage can be diluted and distributed from 1 central place .

The Big W at Livingston (WA) had none, I found mine at Toys R Us Cannington, they also had the twin packs. The downside is, with my girlfriend and her neice in tow, had to spend half a bloody hour in "Barbie land"

Australian reporters supposedly scammed their way into silverlit's factorys acting as interested wholesale buyers using a fake company/website/id's etc?

These planes are awesome.Redrum and I flew them in a reserve this afternoon. On the way home with the wife I stopped off at a park and flew it round a bit.To my surprise my wife asked for a fly :O .I gave her a go and she was a natural. So now she is getting one as well.Let the dog fights begin.

ok , so the last plane i got had a small issue that needed to be rectified so thought id mention it here incase we had other members buying them and wondering why they wouldnt fly .

The plane i just bought tended to stall everytime i tried to fly it ( stalling means it that the nose just goes straight up and then drops to the floor ) .

If anyone else has this problem , its not a big issue , you just need to bend the flaps on the rear tail downwards a bit and problem fixed .

Best way to trim up a plane is to have no power on it and just give it a solid launch from about 4 meters onto your couch or something soft , it should just glide staight and level with a gradual decsent . If it pulls left or right , bend your rudder to compensate , if it stalls or dives , bend your elevator up or down . DONT RELY ON YOUR PROPELLOR TRIM TO COMPENSATE , ITS LIKE CRAB CRAWLING A CAR WRECK .

I know this info is very basic to most but there are allot of people here who dont know bout planes so this info may come in handy incase they buy 1 of these and wonder why it doesnt fly properly .

Redrum
05-08-2006, 11:11 AM
I got the same plane RB, problem with mine is that one of the motors is not mounted true and even with full right trim it still tends to steer left, pain in the bum!

remotebandit
05-08-2006, 02:00 PM
cut it out with a stanley knife blade and re-position it mirrored to the other one mounting it with a spot of silicon .

Vampyre
05-08-2006, 07:12 PM
We got the Bi-Plane today. It is pretty cool but has trouble gaining height.I think it is too heavy in the nose so I might start by removing the front (free spinning) propeller. My original one seems to need some extra weight.A small peice of led that holds plants down in a fish tank should fix it.

Vamp

remotebandit
05-08-2006, 07:15 PM
nah vamp , bent the elevators up , just slit a small 1.5cm cut in the elevator line on the tail and kink it up , it will fix the prob .

i had a massive fly today with te biplane and can vouch its the best compared tot he other 2 . the dart and the other single wing are ok but need allot more room to fly , the biplane ( assuming no wind ) flew virtually in the driveway by the time i had it trimmed .

BELIEVE ME

Nah Mike , this 1 i got today is different to the X Wings , this has a 6V 200mah NiMh pack in the plane that charges off a wall charger .

Havnt played with it long enough to do a write up on it in terms of fly time , full flight charecteristics etc but ill keep you posted when i get a calm day .

You you think you could give the fuselarge some sergery and cut a hole in the foam then glue a higher voltage / higher mah lipo pack in there?

JD
06-08-2006, 09:06 PM
probably not i'd say, then it would be too heavy, and higher voltage would fry the motors/esc

Redrum
07-08-2006, 06:49 PM
Too heavy? Lipo's are much lighter than NiMH's

JD
07-08-2006, 07:21 PM
if u want high current ones they will weigh more.

remotebandit
07-08-2006, 07:55 PM
This might actually be a good point to mention seeing there are a few newbies thinking bout rc planes .

Mike , as far as modifying planes to fly faster and to give them more power , in 95% of cases , more power is worse .

On a plane you have 3 dimensions of flying and not 2 like cars . If you overpower a plane , the torgue on your motor will actually cause it to roll wing over wing hence why you need the right balance of motor and prop . Another thing to take into account is the wing structure , too much power can cause wing clapping ( wings will snap ) if you get into some serious moves .

Obviously weight is another issue , these foamies are allready pushing the limits on weight so something bigger than the supplied battery pack is going to make it a sinker ... believe me , the companies that make these planes im sure have put them through all the relevant tests to get close to peak performance out of them .

I had , still have infact , a fighter plane ( picture added below ) , it was designed to run a 61 size engine and ran mad with it but i tried a 70 in it and its whole flight charecteristics changed , it was worse .

the last twin i bought , from toys r us ... forget about them , they fly shit .

but check this 1 , i bought this 1 today at 1pm and have been flying for 2 hours ... sensational , this is now my favourite electric park flyer .

This even uses servo controled working rudder , very responsive and power is pretty good allowing it to take off of the ground with no probs over about 15 meters .

Big W .. $70 comes with rechargeable batt for the plane and a car charger , charges it in about 5 minutes and gets about 10 minutes flying .
