Hi guys

West Coast Model Rally club has been asked by the Bassendean council to host a race at their community expo on sunday 5th november this year.

It would be a grass race, similar to the Autumn River Festival earlier this year, where we had LOADS of public spectators, was great exposure for the hobby.

It would be great to run, but obviously before we say yes, we need to know whether drivers would be interested in running in it. West Coast would run it as probably a pro-am event or similar, and would put up trophies and perhaps prizes.

It is a week after the WAORMA challenge which is scheduled for 29th october i think at Carine. We're trying to find out whether this will be happening as scheduled with carines new commitee. If not we may use this event as the waorma challenge. It's still theoretical at the moment, but if we can get a show of hands of people interested, it'd help us decide if we can run it or not.

Yes, the 5th november is a sunday, and yes if we get enough interest i see no reason not to run a 1/18th class, as long as theres the interest.

Well ANY publicity is good publicity. Might pay to do demo runs of a Baja5b and some nitro cars? All the more chance to run my 1/8 buggy, just loving nitro racing.

KB,

At this stage the reply from Carine is that they wish to host the Challenge, and stay affiliated with WAORMA.

Will keep you all posted.

No it's not. With just having spenta fortune on the track, and using all our piping et that we used at Autumn River, we culdn't really afford it. Plus it wastooshort a notice to properly fit it into the racing calendar so we get a decent turn out
