View Full Version : My Mini T

I thought I would put a new post in here since its been so quite lately on the 1/18 front.

I bought what I beleive is the ex-Balistic BL Mini T from another forum user via eBay earlier this year. Actually I am still waiting for a feedback from the seller.

I got the Mini T in pretty sad state. It wasnt even a runner, it was in a few peices and had a few missing parts. I even said to the missus that I might have to use her Mini T as a base for this one but I've since managed to get it back to a running condition.

Its been a blast and I have since upgradesd the radio from the Xray radio that was in it, bought a few pinions for it and added both a 7.4 and 2 X 11.1 lipos for a little power but I am looking for opinions on motor options because the 8kv is just to much for anything except showing off and the only place I can get control is on the road and even then its still very uncontrolable.

What do the 5400 or the 4200 motors go like, will they perform well on the track? Any other brands of motor that people can suggest Hacker or Tekin? I'm not to worried about losing a lot of speed because the Mini T doesnt turn very well at 60 or 80 kph anyway.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe I should just trash the whole Mini T idea and outbid Ellenbrock on that Mini Inferno on eBay?? &|

Cheers

thats a real shame to hear RC_Nuts. Always sad to hear bad ebay experiences. *touchwood*

to be honest, the best motor combo for the mini-t i found would have to be a graupner 300 6V. Yes its slow comparing to brushless options, but you will find that it is a lot more drivable... instead of being sidelined cos it was going too fast :D

Don't trash the T.If the 8k is too much I would suggest the 6800.I run one in my T with a 3cell 11.1v 20c lipo and it is a great combo.I love my Mini-T.....I have spent too much money on it but I still love it.

I knew you were talking to me !lol

Yeh I got it from someone off here earlier this year and through a little investigating on this forum, I am almost 100% sure it is the Ex-BALISTIC Mini T.

Its one of the problems with buying through ebay and to steal a quote from Forest Gump, "eBay's a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna to get".

So you guys recon I should keep it and just get another motor for it? What motor? Mamba, Tekin.....?

Cheers

I run the mamba 8kv with plain old venom and losi 7.2 volt batteries and find the car isn't THAT hard to handle on the track. I do plan on going lipo though as i want to see just how fast the thing can go lol
Have you tried running a lower voltage batt? or playing with the mamba settings??
