nice nice.. then you prob dont need no hop ups at all!! !lol..

the only thing i can suggest with onroad is tyres tyres tyres. damn these things wear out quick on asphalt... so i suggest spend and choose wisely on the right choice of tyres (depending on your track surface and temp of the day) TAKEOFF CS27's seem to be the right choice for now... but as summer creeps up, maybe go for something a bit harder... like CS-32's .....

IM sure there are other onroaders here that will provide better answers then me.. since im only a part-timer with the onroad stuff. GIMME SOME DIRT AND DUST! !lol

What are the most popular rims to get? I have heard the ProLine ones are weak.
Also where do you get you tire local or overseas

i buy mine local.. i use Take-Off tyres and Sorrex or Speedmind rims. Havent used prolines so cant comment on them.

The Speedminds are cheap and u can get them in 8 packs ;) I get mine local, they are preety easy to get. I know Rypers got them in stock ;)

ESC: Electronic Speed Controller.

Fundamental miss in your list there. Motor doesnt get power without one! Again, spend wisely. Maybe your best bet is one of the brushed/brushless combo speed controls for future-proofing.

I buy locally from Ryper Hobbies.
I have tryed Proline 26mm rims for onroad racing and u r spot on that they r to weak. Like Shadow said use speedmind rims and take off tires, sorex tires are good but only last 1 or 2 race meets especially in mod..
Hope this helps

Also if you're buying an ESC, a lot of people will recommend the Novak GTX, great speedy however with Brushless becoming more and more popular, you're better off with an LRP Sphere or a Novak GTB which can handle both, also very close in pricing to the GTX. I use a Sphere and change between brushless and Stock and it's been fine, very easy to set up and use.
