Just out of curiosity, I went to modelflight.com.au and pretend ordered every option part worth getting for the Mini-T just to see how much I'd be in for if I got one.

Mini-T = $170 (from RMS)
Option parts (bearings, shocks, springs, cvds, ti buckles, no ball diff listed) = $143 (incl shipping)
Every aluminium part available = $275

I'd hopefully use my Big Block motor, but a Mamba Competition X would surely be mandatory at some stage for most people (plus MIP ball diff) = $223 (from Tower)

GRAND TOTAL = $811 (batteries not included)

Wow! Expensive.

However, when I look at it in stages (ie. kit, then option parts, then aluminium, then motor), it doesn't seem so bad. I guess this is how we all get sucked in and end up spending fortunes on our RC hobby. Dunno if I can justify this one....already bought two cars in the past 40days.

Dammit! Maybe it's the lack of sleep, but I want one!

I'm putting my B3 buggy on ebay as a ready to run package if anyone's interested.

it's easy to get sucked in. There's so much wicked info for them on the web.

one of my fave sites at the mo is www.one18th.com they have project freedom on there which is wild, then theres beatyourtruck.com which has wild footage also.

I bought my Mini-T as ready to run... I'm upgrading mine slowly, in stages.

I'm not going to fully hop the 'T' up unless something breaks or offers an obvious performance improvement. For example, replacing everything in alluminium is only going to make it considerably heavier. A lot of people stick with the standard chassis and brace it up.

My config at the mo is:
losi oil shocks
losi front and rear spring kit (soft, med, hard)
modelflight 1100mah nimh 2/3a 6-cell battery

wish list:
MIP or 3-racing diff
full bearings (still dont have)
Ti turnbuckle set (still standard rods)

in preperation for a Mamba 25 package with 5400 or 6800 motor. (the 8000 is way too much).

Keeping in mind I want to race this on a mini-T track, not just hack it on the street. I think the upper end mamba motor's are way too much.

LiPo battery pack's
Another set of dirt wheels/tyres
a set of Losi Foam wheel/tyres
Alumn steering set (probably 3-racing)

On order already is a new JR FM radio system, Hitec-55 micro servo for mini-T and the losi HS55 servo saver.

So hopefully in about a Month it will be running and I'll be tuning :)

cant wait, so much fun!!

might also get the baja bug shell... haha nice

When I get mine, I'm going to get a Hummer H2 shell, to match my Savage ;)

Hmm....why can't I find an RC18T in Australia? Seems like the smarter choice.
-Similar US price
-4wd
-ball diffs
-oil filled shocks
-1100 NiMH battery and charger
-metal pinion
-ballbearings

less hop ups for RC18, less following, shaft 4wd (i cant imagine a stadium truck with 4wd, weird) heavier, etc... still would be fun.... I'm not sure if RC18T is permitted to race in Mini-T class racing, not sure.... still a neat truck!

Im not into racing (break too much stuff). As weird as 4wd on a stadium truck sounds, it'd probably be a much better platform to go nuts with a brushless.

That said, I can't pass up $170 for a mini-t, even though comparatively an RC18T would work out cheaper. It's all in the mind....

I am thinking about getting one to match my rc10gt!

It's a tough choice. I'll have to re-assess when (if) I sell my buggy. Few guys watching it....why won't they put on a bid or just buy-it-now?

F**k it. I'm gonna put myself in debt even more and buy a friggin mini-t this week. Waiting for this buggy to sell is killing me. Gonna have to come up with some story as to how I got it though.

Kids: Stay away from credit cards. Especially ones which aren't 'real' credit cards that charge interest rates that put tax rates to shame.

they just seem "too small" ?? 1/10th is a good size in my opinion. i just cant get into the 1/18th for the fact that it just looks like a little kids car to me :(

here we go with the flaming, i can feel it now !dodge

*Flame on*....just kidding.

I LOVE micro stuff. Ever since the HPI Micro came out, I've been addicted. The main reason is that they're comparatively cheap. Which means you can buy more!

My micro RS4 was faster than most 1/10 scale electrics. My TLT-1 can hold it's own on regular rough terrain. I'm stretching it (for bugger all $$$) and it will be able to compete with Stampede size trucks. The Mini-T's and other trucks are all able to compete with their 1/10 scale brothers.

So, basically yeah, you get similar thrills for less money.

more pros:
ability to use inside your house (build your own track) ability to race on your local purpose built track (fun fun fun)
cheaper to mod / hopup..
cheaper to repair
same fun as 1/10

It's literally a scaled down ver of 1/10, right down to the parts that are in them.

I love my mini-T cant wait to have it cranking again, soon soon.

When it's pissing down rain outside, I'll be inside racing Mini-T at the hobby track, while the 1/10 guys are watching coz they cant race in the rain. heh heh

James, I got an email this morning from Troy at BPP.....5-10 days time, your Mini-T will cranking harder than ever ;)

After working on my iWaver the last couple days, tinkering with my 1/10 is kinda weird. It's like working on a real size car!
