What is it with ebayers not being able to read? When I buy something I make sure I read all the details of the description, in particular, payment methods. I only like to use direct deposit.

Yet lately, for some reason, I seem to be getting a lot of people who don't seem to have access to computers or can't get to post offices or are away working interstate etc... They email me plainly asking for alternate payment methods because they dont have online banking. No apologies for the fact I say I don't accept any other forms of payment.

Then there's the no-contact wankers. If you're gonna be a non-paying-bidder, than do it properly. These guys all bid on my items then refuse to make contact with me. On a few occasions, an email threatening negative feedback or requesting their personal details seems to all of a sudden bring them back from their 'busy' life so they can now pay me.

I try to weed out non paying bidders early by requesting them to make contact within 3 days of winning the auction. Nothing big, just click that big 'request information' button that comes up when you win the auction. They just don't do it. Then all of a sudden someday when I'm wondering if I should relist, payment shows up in my account.

And what's up with feedback whores!? These guys constantly email me asking for me to write them feedback. Here's a hint, the more you ask me, the longer it's gonna take ;)

And when I say NO LOCAL PICKUP, why do they assume they're my best buddy and request my address so they can pick it up? They don't even ask if this is OK with me, they just assume....

I'm tired and I've had enough with ebay customers today.

Some cranky ass woman from down south was questioning my postage cost of $5 for a dvd size item. She took her time to pay, I sent straight away, a day later she emailed me her grumpy thoughts.

She said $5 was too expensive (after she'd paid!?) and that I should offer her a refund of some of the postage. I was like, what the f**k!!! If there's any cents left over, I pocket that as handling fee. I expect everyone else to do that too. If I am told the postage amount and am happy with it I have no right to ask for a refund. So, after a couple back and forths like this, I wrote the most snide reply ever.

Basically it said that if she did not like the postage cost she should not have bid. Then since she DID pay me, I took that as in, she agreed to buy the item. So I asked her why she paid me if she thought it was too expensive (trying to point out the obvious). I told her to check every other dvd item out there and see that postage ranges from $4-$6. I chose middle of the road cos it's a nice number and covers postage adequetly. In this case, I pulled out my receipt and gave her a rundown of my costs:
$1.20 packaging
$3 postage (or something)
$0.80 for driving down and dealing with annoying customers.
TOTAL = $5

The I told her that if she wanted her 80c back, she could give me her address and I would send it too her, but only 25c, cos I would need 55c to pay for the stamp and envelope.

I also told her that if she was so worried about 80c, then maybe she should reconsider her financial position and not bid for $50+ games (what I sold her).

I told her to stop wasting my time. She responded saying she was having a bad day etc....then I waited 60days (or whatever it is) and left her negative feedback for being annoying.

DUDE!!!
I know exactly what you are talking about.

I can have up to 10 cars waiting to be sent at any one time because some people take over 2 weeks to pay. I can handle people letting me know they are waiting for payday but I hate it when they dont reply to emails.

All in all most people are pretty good, and I usually return the favour by sending the items off the next day. Ebay is just getting so main stream and easy to use now you have to expect a few dickheads.

I just have to remember that if it wasn't for ebay I wouldn't sell nearly as much shit as I do.

do your research and see what other people are selling them for. You have to make yours sound better than theirs. If you have bugger all feedback you need to sell some stuff off cheap to build it up. Just make sure everything is clearly stated. Oh, and make sure you specify that the items are sent from Australia (if they are) and be ready for questions re warranty.

And let me buy one cheap!

Then make a dummy account, and bid out all the competition....hahaha. Just kidding.

I'm not normally this pissed off, something just set me off this morning. I always reply to emails asap. If I'm buying, I complete checkout and email straight away saying Ive paid and give a copy of the payment receipt. If I'm selling, I always let them know when their payment arrives, and when I send the item (next working day). Just courtesy, and it's not like it requies a lot of effort.

Yes ebay is still a great thing. To think, I actually used to sell stuff to cash convertors....

I use ebay to sell car parts, and I tell ya...you get some idiots out there!!

Mainly people who dont leave feedback even though their item arrives next business day, and they dont have to pay any extra for express post either on occasion (depending on how much profit I make on the items)...and they pester you when YOU dont leave them any feedback!!!

People ask really stupid questions, like when I sell Bosch motorsport fuel pumps. "How much power will this fuel pump give me in my Corolla?"

GRRRRR

Boys boys boys , heres a seller thats finally glad to hear that its not only me this happens to lately .

Ive been selling on ebay for the last 3 - 4 years under the user name of f1_mclaren ( please dont hold this against me if ive upset you in the past ... lol ) .

Its only the last year that has seen a 3,000,000,000 % increase in ****wits and all your stories are familliar . My last case was some idiot named r_cpauly who questioned my selling techniques a while back and after responding politely to his email he kept harping on about my adds thinking i owned ebay and thought i was putting myself out as a big shot so i threw a few nice emails back ( if you get to know me , i can throw back some extreemly polite emails ... NOT ).

2 days later , i receive a private phone call of him telling me just like he found my mobile number he was going to find me next ( i have not even registered my real name let alone my mobile number with ebay so it did worry me a bit at the time but it only lasted a few hours ) so it goes to show the type of idiots and in fact sycos we have to deal with .

As far as feedback is concerned , yes , if someone mails me back asking for it , it will definately delay the whole process as im a once every couple of week feedback leaver and do it all in 1 go .

I have a heap more to contribute to this convo but do have to cut it short now but keep an eye out for this space as i will teach you all a few tricks in the coming weeks for ebay .

Just while i remember , i bought this mini monster truck off some total wanker a couple of weeks ago and his user name was azzarch or something like that , im warning you all , he is a complete tosser and has given me much grief so stay away and ban him ......

Only joking .... lol .

Adam .

P.S.. I was only joking about Azza , it all went perfectly and only added that comment in for comical reasons .

Just out of curiosity, what's the most stupid thing people have found for sale on ebay. I laughed when I saw my mate was trying to sell his hole punch. I laughed even more when someone from Germany actually enquired about postage for it.

This is the latest one I was shown

"Dear ebay member,
What are these for?"

OK I know this is an old thread - but having not been here long and reading your painful ebay experiences I laughed my ass off
!lmao

and TOTALLY AGREE- I was selling car (Commodore) and had the same probs - the first time some knob jockey registered in Singapore just to "buy it now" only to de-register afterwards, then when i re-listed it some guy in melbourne (iam in canberra!!) bid after only a day or so - never contacted me never asked any questions before the auction ended..........I clearly stated it was for local pick up and contact within 3 days/ payment within 7/ask all questions before bidding.

So the auction ends - still no contact - so I get his contact details from ebay - ring him and hes like "oh hi - yeah how much to send it down?! I then proceeded to tell him that it is in canberra and no freight and ask all questions before bidding etc etc - oh and about the cost of freighting a car 100's of km's and rego changeover etc etc etc. So he said he "might not" be able to buy it (SHOCKING SURPRISE THERE)...........

..and to top it off (keep in mind this is after he has already bought it) he say .....so anyway what is the car like, does it go ok? HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA AH AH AHA H AHA HA HA if it wasnt so funny I'd be angry.......my reply should have been "WHO CARES YOU OXYGEN THIEF - YOU OWN IT NOW ANYWAY W@NKER !!!!!"........................... !amazed

But is anyone really surprised ?!?!?! B)

I always assumed the local paper would be the best place to sell a car.

Although, my mate listed his motorbike when they were giving away free vehicle listings. He chucked it on ebay at premium price for the hell of it. Ended up selling it straight away to some guy in Darwin.

Hello all , ive been away for 2 weeks and am catching up on all goss now but couldnt help joining in on this 1 as its one of my favourite threads as we can all relate to most posts here .

As i always say , lately , the new ****wits joining up on ebay would have had a better chance in life if they hadve just continued dribbling down their dads leg when they were shall we say being created .

Too many dickheads in there to mention and infact i mentioned 1 here in another thread quiet a while ago and received a nast from him next day with regards to it so will keep user names silent as theres an obvious mole floating around somewhere but all i can say is dont get cought out on postage cheats as well . Items that sell for $30 and then require $59 for postage .

Anyway this question is for justo in an earlier post . Whats an 02 ( if its the phone , i got 1 about 5 months ago and have a heap of freeware for you if your interested ) .

Adam .
