Heys guys..
Well I can get my P's in a month and am looking around for the right first car. Being a Rev head Im looking for something with a bit of grunt haha..maybe an old Commodore VL similar to this:
http://carpoint.com.au/used-car/HOLDEN/COMMODORE/Queensland/2065608.aspx
But my concern is the restrictions to RTA have in place against P-Platers and im not sure what they are exactly so I was wondering if anyone could share some light..
I have heard that you arent allowed to run turbo on your P's, is this true? That are some of the restrictions..
Thanks guys.
P.S In order to fund a new car the R/C gear might have to go :( x) !ill :( So keep an eye out for the stuff I may have for sale.

****, that's all we need....another p-plate rev head hoon.
Seriously, **** off the big cars mate. Learn how to drive properly with a sensible car.
Nothing personal, I'm just sick of the number of ****wits on the road.
well ur in NSW or soemwhere, every state has different rules, so most here cant help u.
that car is shit though , i wouldn't touch it... whats the point of turboing a car, intercooler ect..... and its an f*ing auto!
but yer, get a normal small 4 cly, otherwsie u'll be paying thru the ass for insurance, and any accident u have with a high performance car will always look like ur fault at ur age.

I thought they got rid of the power to weight ratio rule on P platers , for **** sake man , every WRX , Skyline , VL , VN , VR , VP is a P plater here and let me tell you , these are definately overpowered vehicles for P Platers but you know , same story ... " Im different , im a safe driver , im not like the others , i never give it stick , i got 100% in my driving test "
Dunno the rules bro , i just reckon its typical old fashioned story that if the cop behind you dont like the car and the way youve stuck the Ps on it , the canaries coming and let me tell ya that the bodgie roadworthy the car yard got to fool the YOUNG P Plater new car buyer will cost you a fortune to get the sticker removed to get the proper roadworthy .

That comment says A LOT about the type of driver most people would bet you will become. Fact is, you WILL scream around like a wanker at least a few times no matter what car you have (I'm sure everyone except my mum has), and eventually you WILL come to appreciate the cost of petrol and the savings a smaller capacity car can offer. Facts of life man.....

Yeah, I thought about deleting my post afterwards cos it was harsh. I just feel very strongly about new drivers learning how to drive properly is all. A lot of learner drivers don't realise that you can spend your whole life learning to become a better driver. They tend to think that just because they passed a rudimentry test it means they know how to drive.
Not saying that I'm perfect or anything. While I do consider myself one of the better drivers of all the people I know, I still do stupid things. For example, I dragged a guy in a corolla who wanted a go at me cos he saw me launch off the previous set of lights. I was hella tired and not thinking straight so I went for it. Afterwards I kicked myself for doing it cos it was an idiotic thing to do, especially since I was so out of it.
A non-idiot example happened just last night, I almost ran into a car after not giving him way around a roundabout. Totally would have been my fault. There is a front right blind spot in my Astra and our cars were always positioned perfectly so that I never saw him as he entered and went round the roundabout until my GF yelled at me (she had the better view from the passenger side) and the car appeared right infront of me!
something like that kind of happened to me justo, in a car park though, i come out of a little T intersection, looks right look left, see a car reversing out of a carpark, lookright again and start to go, and all of a sudden theres a car infront of me (who came fro mthe left, from somewhere!) haha!

In NSW P platers can't drive, V8's, turbos, high performance 4's and 6's and Rotorys
Stupid rules really. Was a knee jurk reaction after that fool in his Dad's R34 GTR
Some of the cars banned is crazy, Dad has a 1966 Daimler with a 2.5ltr V8. Its on the banned list. Average small hatch is quicker.
The full list is on the RTA website, well it was at least. Worth a look
