Yep, I have been keeping my eye out for them to arrive in Aus. We went into Radio Shack while we were in the USA in August with the intention of buying out their stock of PicooZ's but the guy behind the counter just kept dribbling and making us talk with our ozzie accents that we just had to get out of there and couldnt be bothered going back again.

It was a shame for him that he couldnt shut up for 5 minutes because we had a bad habit of spending way to much money while we were there.

The guy in Radio Shack just kept saying over and over again "Danga Took My Bubba" "Danga Took My Bubba" in a very strong Texan voice.

From what I've read, these things suck balls in regards to quality and consistency....some fly well, and some are absolutely rubbish straight out of the box.

remotebandit
10-10-2006, 03:43 PM
mine will fly well straight out of the box and if it doesnt , ill sell it to you ... hehe , anyway , nothing theirs heaps of mods people are doing to them in the micro flight forums anyway from what ive heard so if it flys well , i wont be having it stock for 2 long .

Ill give the Full rundown when i get it .

Yep, rubbish flyers can be made to fly great with a few very minor and simple mods...

Nothing to cry about especially considering the cost!! Some people are saying these are the most fun little heli's they've ever used.

Guys , these are 1 of the best inventions ever made .

Flight charecteristics are AMAZING , gyro and tail motor work FLAWLESSLY , balance is PERFECT . THere was obviously allot of design work gone into this and its not just a slap and hope for the best design , let me tell you . The Gyro is better than what ive seen in some proper RC helis .

ANYONE can take this straight out of the box and hover .

I have allready modded my centre of gravity on it to it gives forward flight and its tunred this thing into another dimension again .

Anyway , i do have to go to work now so will give the full shpeil tonight late when i finish .

These are AMAZINGLY fun and easy is my final say for now .

Ok , did a little clip of it flying over the scalextric GP circuit .

I will try to post it but its not going to work as ussual so if a mod can post me an email address i will mail it to them and they can upload it and also FIGURE OUT WHY I CANT UPLOAD EVEN THE SIMPLEST OF VIDEOS EVER .

Thats crazy.I want 2.The good thing about them is that you dont have to have a sh#t load of room to fly them.Unlike the X-Twin's.

remotebandit
10-11-2006, 01:21 PM
man , if you didnt know it was IR , youd never pick it .

I can actually fly it around corners and still picks up ... very weird .

Once i prang it good ill pull it apart fully and work out where the sensors are .

Pick up a Robosapien while you're there and mod it :D
Ubersapien that sprints across the room at 20km/h!

I went to get the Pico-Z but they had none so I came home with the GyroRotor. It is bigger than the Pico-Z but is still made by silverlit and has the same battery set up except there is a wall charger.I think we need a Silverlit thread.

uhhm , excuse me vamps , what about a bit of a write up for those of us that are looking at buying that as well ... hehe

Vampyre
12-11-2006, 04:47 PM
Oh I am sooo sorry that I didnt do a write up as soon as I got home RB.
As this is my first heli I can not really base it's performance on anything else.I have to say it was relitively simple to trim up.It is definatly an indoor flyer or zero wind.I took it outside for a fly and it ended up across the road two houses up.The steering works the same way as the x-twin planes.Mine tends to bank to the left which makes it hard to fly in a room full of furnishings.I like it better than the planes.Pics to follow.

Guys , well they have hit Aus and even better is that my mate who owns a pretty big online store has imported almost 1000 of them .

If anyones interested in buying 1 , i can highly reccomend this seller and their service so go to the following link and enjoy the freedom of indoor helicopters that even little kids can fly :

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-ORIGINAL-2006-PICCO-Z-MINIATURE-R-C-HELICOPTER-RC_W0QQitemZ200082508872QQihZ010QQcategoryZ110026Q QcmdZViewItem

Or out of ebay , $45 plus postage ( bundle 3 together for bulk postage discount just let me know and ill give you his details if you wanna do it that way :) )

Good luck and i hope to see more people in the RC flight thread with these in the near future .

Ok I have had the PicooZ for a day and have moded it already.I found the mod on rcgroups.com.The links below are to pics of the mod.It might not be pretty but it works a treat. It gives a heap more forward movement and more stability. With the clear plastic you can hardly see it in flight anyway.

i saw that mod bro but never tried it . There was debate about it being a bit turbulent but now that youve done it , is it steady

Vampyre
25-02-2007, 09:54 PM
Do it.It makes it a lot more stable and gives it more forward movement.I was a bit hesitant but then I thought it is only foam.I will try and get a video of it.

I finally got around to making a video of the modded picoo z flying.Notice the extra forward motion. The video is a bit dodgey but it is not bad for a phone.....I love my N73.

He flys better than I do inside :P If that was me flying id be bouncing it off the walls and celling all the time :)

That was the third take !lol .With the picoo I have to make sure all the windows and doors are closed so that there is no breeze flowing through the house.
