Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd update everyone on the progress of my Savage rebuild :)

Its taken a while! I've been lovingly cleaning every single nut, bolt, bearing and component in dishwashing detergent with a toothbrush, and then soaking them in tyre foam, to make them shiny again! I still have about 20% of the parts left to clean and restore, but it wont take much more than a couple of hours at the most to do the rest of the job ;)

Many parts needed replacing:

1x Lower hinge pins
2x Diff casings
2x sets Diff gears
1x Roll bar
1x Shock shafts
2x Shock springs
1x Spring retainer
1x clutch spring
1x engine!!

The engine I bought, as also shown in another thread, is a 3.6HP (rated) SH .28 motor. I've also upgraded the diffs to 4 spyder gears in each, and fit an 18T clutch bell.

My new paddle tyres. These will allow me to rip up dirt and sand hills with ease, but they really limit use to off-road only, paddles dont like roads!

Many of the parts that have been cleaned, and are awaiting cleaning. There are still more parts in the garage that I havent put with the rest yet!

Freshly rebuilt and re-oiled shocks, and new heavy duty springs....they are yellow, to match the Proline Hummer H2 shell

Although I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning after a good sand dune bash!
