Dude, just get the Rtr. If your going too the LHS tomorrow,Im asuming you want it going staight away.
Getting the kit will teach you about the car and may have some minor left over spares, but Id just get the RTR,Then you can throw more money at it when you have the $$,and still use it in the mean time.

Yeah I agree.
If you get the RTR version get the losi as they come with better electronics in the RTR versions.
..and Mike, which losi buggy rtr are you referring to? and what are those electronic specs which you are referring to that are better ??

Just a quick note about the RC10B4 Race Spec, it does not come with CVD's. Instead it has steel dogbones. This is something that you will want to replace when you start racing.

Now that I think about it I don't even know if losi makes a RTR buggy lol.
I was just thinking the the XXX-T RTR comes with better electronics than the RC10T4 RTR.
And I just presumed that they both made buggies with the same elctronics :P
Awww least I was trying to help :(
if you can get the kit. get the kit.
Since you say you have an extra $300 to spend AFTER the kit, you can get going with a cheap Futaba radio package, a futaba mc330cr speedy and a stock 27T motor... and come out with change.
It may not sound too enticing starting at the cheap end of electronics... but imo, its better to get a good chassis setup first up. electronics can play second fiddle.
Awww least I was trying to help :(
No Mike.. even though your intentions were good, your unwarranted claims only confuse people in the end.
Read, research and check the facts first before offering knowledge and advice.

Yes all the gear does seem to be fine.
One thing I'm not to sure about this is some tamiya motors do not fit into the motor mounts of some chassis's. I know the Sports Tuned does not fit a MF2 motor mount.
