I do the warranty repairs and anything else for the local Toyworld (closest thing to a hobby shop we have.
Got a car today the owner said it was going out of control when it was far away from him causing him to break the front suspension. It was only playing up when it was running
Thought he could have some type of electrical problem or a sticking servo.
Just opened up the box, this is what i found
1 Broken arial
Steering wheel on the transmitter was broken
Rod from throttle servo to carb was bent, touching the top deck
He wants to claim this under warranty.
He has got another thing coming. Hate people like that with no respect

XTM X-Cellerator
Our Toyworld sells anything you want. But she is pretty hopeless and won't listen to what we tell her. We have only been in the hobby for 20+ years, what do we know ~:(
We told her what stock she should get, she sold it all in two days, and not to us! She then ordered what she wanted and it is all still on the shelf.
When i win lotto i'm starting my own shop.
And yes, you all get discount!!!

Yeah, thats about right
Had another a little while back, went like this
Him "i cant get it to start"
Me "where is you glow starter?"
Him "my what? Do you mean this thing?"
Me "yeah thats it"
Connect it up and give it a few pulls and nothing happens. I look at the fuel tank and notice the fuel is red. The only fuel available here is green
Me "where did you get this fuel from?"
Him "from home"
Me "it smells like petrol"
Him "it is, whats wrong with it"
Also
"my car won't steer"
"are the batteries charged?"
"what do i need batteries for? Its nitro powered"

Sounds like they came straight from ebay .
The type of people that think that if they spend $50.00 , they are the biggest people out and that the product should be unbreakable . ( i know the car was more than that but just an example ).
Tell them to go buy a ****ing tonka toy .

The hard thing is when someone comes to you with a (what i consider) cheap car with a problem. Even though they may have paid $300 for it, they can't understand that i can fix toys. If they bought a proper rc car i could get the parts to fix it.
Cars like that put people off the hobby when they break. They get soo dissapointed when they get sold a car that is apparently super fast high quality competition cars (as you see advertised on Ebay)
They come out racing, get blown away and then get disheartened.
They should just spend the money, by a known brand, it may be slower and more expensive but at least you can fix it and hop it up as you get better.
I just cant get that through to people.

Its pretty much the same with every type of service department....I work for a place that sels photocopiers and we get customers that break the glass on their copier and want it replaced under their service contract.........ummmm news flash people. paper is not heavy enough to break glass and it doesn't go crack just for no reason......however peoples elbows go through it quite easily if your leaning on it and big books smacked down on it like your trying to squash a spider will have the same effect aswell......you'd be surprised how often this happens
