As the topic suggests, what are you using. Also what are the positives and maybe negatives of the charger/discharger your using.

Im on the hunt for a new charger to cycle thru my packs to recondition them.

Currently my setup uses a supernova 250s charger, deans discharger plus black box and a trinity real time discharger.

If money was a no object issue, what you purchase and why?

What's wrong with your charger?

Probably no help but I use a Sun-Ji Chartronic

If I had money, I'd get the duratrax intellipeak ICE. Why? Cos it looks cool ;)

i went through this excercise recently and the two that got loads of mentions were the Eagle "CDC" and the LRP "Pulsar".

There are 2 versions of each and the same difference is that the later model can charge at a higher amp rate.

LRP pulsar / Eagle CDC version 5 - up to 8amp, 1 to 7 cells
LRP pulsar2 / Eagle CDC version 6 - up to 10 amp, 1 to 10 cells

(it has been 3 weeks since i did the research so the figures on the chargers are from memory, i could be incorrect here!)

both discharge. the LRP pulsar has a motor break in function. simply connect your electric motor and it supplies a constant, low voltage supply which you can raise and lower on the fly with the motor running.

theyre 2 top notch chargers retailing for around the $300 mark and both are 12v so a power supply of some sort will be needed. a car 12v battery, a PC computer power supply or a jobbie from Jaycar that has a 15A output for $189

very popular at the tracks in Sydney, with the two top drivers from the track i race at, one has a CDC version 6 and the other has a Pulsar2 and he is on this forum known as "49er"

I got the CDC version 6......best charger I've ever used :D

Only thing is it doesnt do Li-Po, but that really doesnt bother me too much cos I'm not keen on using Li-Pos anyway :)

also note the Duratrax ICE does all the tasks the above chargers do... and is $230. :)
