a reminder on this one boys.

since there is no racing on Friday night at West Coast, I predict that the turn out might be quite big.

Thanks mate!! It's good to hear this.

Gotta give mention to Daves partner, Michelle, who worked over a hot BBQ in the heat of the night to feed us all. That was really appreciated. Thanks Michelle!

The turn out last night was awesome, with 32 drivers, a good night with some good racing. Go Edgcombe with no body on the truck! Still drove it tight and swift, nice driving last night Mike.

hehe.its good to see that many drivers turnup.i think it was due to the fact that WC didnt run and everybody was bored lol.but still very good turnout.

Thanks to Michelle & Dave for having us all there. Great BBQ Michelle, thanks!!
Thanks to Matt for running the event it was all good.

I would like to propose that all the race nights have a 3min gap between races(no matter where they are held) and if the turnout is low we can extend it rather than the other way round. It just seems that the nights are starting later and going longer at every meet and I would like to try to address it somehow.

Its a good topic of discussion Maz.

When running the off road race meet at Ryper, we run the race as soon as the drivers and marshalls are ready to go. If thats straight away then excellent, and if the novice guys need a few extra mins to prep we are kind to them too.

West Coast currently has a two minute gap between races. Extending to three minute gaps between races could make the night go even longer which is the opposite to what youre wanting to acheive.

Darren made a valid point, speak to the committee in person for better outcomes than posting on a forum.

Matt.

I wasn't really looking to solve the late issue that seems to be happening with any post in this or any other thread.
If it isn't the gap between races then it is the drivers meetings or late starts that are dragging the night out.

This may have been tried before but rather than increasing the time you could reduce the time between races by staggering the marshals so that the marshals for the next race arent the ones that just raced.

For an example you could have marshals for the first race as the ones that racing in the third. 1 & 3, 2 & 4, 3 & 5, 4 & 1, 5 & 2.

This would mean that the guys in the last race dont have to rush to get their transponders back and can tinker with their cars before and after they have to marshal again. It might also let the marshal go out and do their job rather than sitting their during the race and try and remember what it is they had to do.

I know you suggested telling the committee at a meeting but if I dont write these things down I wont remember :)

I have also though about this but it is hard enough to get people to marshall immediately after the race let alone for them to remember while there just in the pits.
