Brand new too RC, just bought a EA Motorsports stock off Ryper Hobbies. Whats the best way to run a motor in ??? I had a power supply at home which has ajustable volts(2v - 15v) with than amp draw gauge also. Would 3v for 15minutes with oil every 5 minutes be good enough ??? Any suggestions

Mate I'm not 100% sure but as your motor is from a company that has tuned an exsisting motor, they often run them in at the factory.

I know that the Team Br00d motors are, these may be too.

If not, standbridges told me (I'm sure this will be wrong, Standbridges allways gave me horrible advice when I was new to the hobby and ripped me off) to run the motor at 25% throttle for a half a battery pack, 50% for the rest of the pack, then for the second battery just vary your speed and not holding full speed for too long.

As the motor is from a tuner and not the manufacturer chances are it has already being run in. You can check by pulling one of the brushes out. If the comm is completely shiny it will need to be run in, however if the comm has a number of rings on it (assuming the motor has serrated brushes), it should have been run in.

I usually run a motor in at 2 - 3 volts for about 4 mins (though it has been a while since I did it since I converted to brushless so these numbers might not be ).

Final option is to contact Eric (the owner) directly and ask him either by email (ea@teameamotorsports.com) or at RcTech.net (http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44983)

It came out with a dyno sheet and just looking at the com it's been run, just not too sure in or for how long

As Birky said the motor comes from a tuner so its likely that since its been dyno'd then they would have run it in prior to putting it on the dyno.

If your still unsure contact the company and ask them but personally I would just put it in and run it as is.

Yeah wilkinson if it shows some signs of wear it will be completely run-in, a company won't half break it in expecting you to finsihed it off.

It's also some of the reason you pay extra for a tuned motor.

Cool thanks guys, I'll just put it in tonight and run it around the park and see how it goes
