Hi all, just wondering how the West Coast track would be described as far as surface goes. Losi site rates tyres suitable for certain track types, not sure how the surface here would be described. Any advice.

i would have to say low to medium grip and bite, watered or not. the way losi set there tyre description up is pretty much useless for WA. WA do not have any "high grip" tracks which losi are refering to.

Golumn: What would you recommend to run ?
Proline Bowtie : When Damp
Proline Holeshot : Dry
Front 4wd holeshots ,on the rear of the buggy ( Works Very Well)
Do you cut both the inner and outer sides of the foam,to cause more or less side wall roll.
And is it worth while balencing the tires as we do in the MT class to stop the "bounce"
The new MTR holeshots on my monster will cause her traction roll,
What type of car you running sprocket & hows your suspention set up ,oil density does play a large part in the amount of traction you get

Hows about the commity use sugar on 1 of the corners to c how much differnce this gives to the amount of traction & on another corner some vegtable oil ,,,,,,The oil will stop any dust problems
More traction please :)

what do you need traction for...you've got 4WD FFS. Imagine it on 2WD!!!

maxed,
i would say holeshots during the night, sprints or holeshots during the day (dusty) or taper pins or square fuzzies when there is a racing line

very worthwhile balancing the larger tyres. i usually cut the inside of the foam, but watching ray on sunday he didnt cut his foams. with the 4wd front holeshots on the rear i found that the sidebite of the tyre was decreased

running losi xxxt, I have tried proline bows and holeshots rear with mixed results. Not sure what compound(LOSI, red, silver) etc suits West coast. Fronts is the issue as I can turn a truck from reasonable to absolute shi$$$#. tried edges, 8 rib and oddly the best so far is the std XXXT RTR tyres that came with the car, a LOSI 4 rib I think it is.

Oil on the track,NO. Sugar... maybe. Bond crete, well that's Just plain Bloody expensive.
The lack of traction itself,is the type of clay.
You'd be suprissed how much tracxtion there is when you first rock up after the wind has blowen the dust of the track.Alas, by the time we get through one round,The track has been ripped up and it's dusty again.
Im thinking about sweeping the track, one or twice tonight, between rounds. But it actually speed's up the erosion prosess,so this has to be weighed up.
More traction V track wear and tear.
It no easy thing, resurfacing a track. And it's not even 12 months since we did,so Im all for preserving it as long as possible.

Dust in a problem everywhere atm. Go to the motorplex one night, West Coast will look like paradise compared to that.
Cheers
All this said, this is off road racing. If you want traction with no dust, try onroad.

Matt, read my original post I said nothing about changing the track. My thread was asking for advice re what the surface at West coast would be classified as so I can work out how to rate tyres from Losi charts and compare setup to other posts on US forums. No issue with the West Coast track surface, just trying to set car up to suit.

Ive got it Sprocket, what you want to do is follow the herd and sell the truck, and buy a 4WD,that way you should be able to do a whole lap facing the right direction....Maybe.RALMFAO

Sprocket, take the Brushless out and put a 15 turn back in,seriously.your fastest lap may not improve, but you average lap will drop 3 - 5 seconds and youll find yourself at the pointy end of the field.I shit you not!

I think all evidence about the over-powered nature of Brushless was seen at Rypers when Stone turned down his ESC and ran faster/better than he did at the higher setting. He was fast before the change, I was able to stay in touch with him, but after the change there was no way I could catch him or even apply pressure with my Stock motor...less is more, in this case at least.
hey guys.. gettign a bit side tracked here..
haha
oh hahah
get it>?
side tracked.. ho ho ho.. hhah hrmmmm
