any easy way to do this with wreaking the tire.
i read u can use fuel to dissolve the solvent glue, but i don't know how that will affect the tyre.

get a large glass jar, real big. get a coke can, cut it up so it's sorta like a 'stand', inside the jar, for your tyres to sit on top of.
put cut up coke can (or other metal stand item) in the jar.
pour acetone into the jar, but not any higher than your make-shift-stand.
put tyres in jar, screw lid on.
The tyres are NOT submersed in the acetone, they are sitting above it.
24 hrs later the tyres will peel right off the rims, the fumes from the acetone will make for an easy tyre release :)

Can also boil in plain tap water for 30 minutes or so. Tyre will pull right off the rim. I do this with all my losi rims.
Just remember the foam insert will prob be knackered after doing this, but i boil to save the rims... not the tyres :)
Might be preferable to the acetone approach if you've got youngins around.
ACETONE. works 100%.
I get as much rubber off my rims before i dunk them in. UNliek James I like to fully submerge the rims in a selaed jar. 24 hours later, the rims are like new again.
Oh and acetone is good for more than one application... it gets a bit "yellow" after a while...but the desolving properties are still good for a few more rims. Ive taken off nearly 5 set of rims and its (the acetone) still good for more.
ummmmmmm, he wants to do it without ruining the tyre.

When I wanted to keep a set of tyres ones, I careflly cut out the bead of the tyre, it worked pretty well I was surprised. Just be careful.
But water doesn't ruin tyres so the boiling method should work.

I certainly wouldnt recommend re using the inserts. That is, if you like your wheels and tyres to be balanced :)

well that got them off easy. the rims i got with my xxxt are massively unbalanced, turns out the knob jockey who put them on used way to much glue, WAY to much.
