My steering servo striped its teeth for the second time in as many months......Is it possible to get better quality gears, such as metal not plastic, or should i just fork out for a better servo.......the one ive got is just the standard traxxas item that came in my truck

Thanks Balistc......I ended up gettin off my lazy arse and goin to the hobby shop.....they had a good high torque servo that would fit but with some modification, so i just got a new set of gears for my original servo, im gunna see how it goes and if i stuff em again real quick i'll go back and get the good servo i think........the hobby shop dude said it had metal gears and was a 9kg servo, not sure what brand but im guessing its a good one considiering the one i have now has plastic gears and apparently 3.5kg's....

After killing a metal geared servo recently i found that they still have a plastic gear. It acts as a sacrificial lamb to save the life of the others.
But a good servo makes a huge difference
PS. Killed the servo on a AE NTC3 which have the worst designed steering i have ever seen on a car and suffer from really bad wheel wobble. Thats 3 different cars driven and built by 3 different people

In all my years and all my cars, I have never ever broken a servo. I still had all my original sanwa gear from my hornet and had still been using it until recently when bits were given away with cars that I sold.
