Well by the time I got to the field it was N,N/E gusting to about 20 kmh.

And the field was rough as bags with heeps of sandy lumpy patches,Bad bad bad.

A smarter fella would have called it a day,or at least looked for a more suitable sight.

But not me!! I was keen.

Lined her up on the flatest part I could find, held me breath and gassed it.
She bounced around for about 15 feet untill it hit a lump and bounced up about 6 inches off the ground,At about this point I shit myself.

It only just had air speed, it banked over to the left, and it was all about to go to shit.

tad of down, bit of right aileron she straightend up and peeled out.

SWEET.I got cumffy with her over a few laps of the field and started to see how full surface deflection would go.

Barrel rolls are quite slow considering I had way more deflection than recomended in the instructions,But fun never the less.
Loops were fairly tight,WAY too much elevator movement,he he,this is going to be fun!!

Did a few more silly things with the sticks just to see what happened, then in for the BUZZ THE TOWER.
She roared past four stroken like a barstard.(only 2nd tank of fuel so still rich)
A few low cuircets of figure eights 10 to 20 foot of the ground at full throtel.Nice!

Then back up too a safe hieght to test slow speed abilaty.Good concidering it was so gusty, but I didnt slow it down enough to test the stall,or "hover" in the wind.
But it was all good.

So I had been up for probly 15 minuets and I thought, bad field with lumps and sand, and a brand new motor without an air filter. That's bad.

So I got up high and stut the motor down, then moved the tritel trim back to fully shut the venturi in case of a misshap on landing.

I LOVE dead stick landings,It truely is MAKE IT OR BREAK IT.
Ya full on peek out as you suss your flight path to the strip.Ha ha I love it.

Not the go for beginers but,the BREAK IT has higher odds then!!

I kept the nose down, went down wind enough to land somewere neer my feet and flew back towards myself.I dint dare try to flair the landing I was going Carrier landing style, just dump the ****er on the deck.

LOL,she still had to much speed and bounced back up in to the air,put the nose back down and tryed again,It bounced again then finaly stoped 50 feet past me.

As I was cleening her up I remembered I forgot to lower the front wheel last night,so she had more than a few degrees angle of attack just sittin on the ground.Never mind,Im calling the maiden flight a huge sucess.

Cheers James.

J-ME,Cheers for the offer bro, that sort of kind jesture is part of what I love about RC.

But I only got the trainer coz it was cheep, and all my plane's n stuff are 300 kms away.

I've had me wings for more than 15 year's now.

O.S. OH YES!! 46LA for $95 ,what a bargin from a local hobby shop!!
Im runing a cheep Futaba Skysport 4,had it and the nicd's for about 5 years now, maybe I should replace them, thats not bad for a set of Nicds I recon.

So are you in a plane club or are you "PATROLING" local parks with your's?

3rd and forth tanks of fuel through her now,Probly should have leaned it out a bit more but,you know,Better safe than LEAN.

Was watchen a Avistar the same as myn on you tube today,Doin a torque roll at allmost ground level.

Can anyone guess what I was trying to do this arvo?

Sadly,Im not that good,In fact far from it.But the plane was for sure.

At a safe hight I pulled up with the throtel low, then fed on the power,Barstard just kept climbing. So a go round and try again.
Low throttel, pull up and Slowley ad the gas.Too slow , she snaped to the left and went for the deck.

Tryed a few more times, but was getting dark, and I was getting to cockey.

Hangin out for the weekend now so I can fly it for more than 2 tanks in one day.

Must be time to mount the digi camera on it!!

So Im joining the local club in Forestdale.

I was a bit nervous at first, knowing they would fully go over the plane and my flight skills.
But the fellas down there are very relaxed, and I soon felt ready for my first flight.

I elected to flick start her,as I had forgot too bring a 12 volt batt for the starter.I can tell you Im still not huge fan of the flick start.Anyway first flic she pops and runs backwards after bashing my finger out of the way.
Shut it down then flicked it bakwards,it bounced on the compresion again and started the write way!!

So I anounced to the other pilots in the air my intension to taxi down wind and take off, with all pilots clearly aware I trundeled of down wind gathering my nerves.

The wind was almost nill as i turned into it and again anounced my intension to take off, then the moment of truth.

because it's a trike undercarage,I just gas it and pull up,so that I did.At about 10 meters off the ground and two seconds into my first flight I got cockey and Half rolled,(upside down) then half bunt (out side loop) back up the right way.

This was about the time I expected to get told off,but as I quickley slung my head over my shoulder to glance at my INSTRUCTOR,He was walking away laughing, saying "you can fly ,go for your life mate."

about the 4 minute mark I started to have a brain fade, flying too high I got confused about which way she was going,(because I was watchen the other boys land) I pionted her towards the deck with the throttel backed off, worked out who I was, and elected to land.

My aproch was perfect(unlike my spelling).
Speed was bleeding off nicely and stuck a three point landing,no bounce, great.Up until I fumbled with my transmiter trying shup her down with the trim, look up and seen her heading for a wood stake.I fed in full right rudder.Opps,I slowly run off the runway and plonked the front wheel in the soft sand!! she bent over and put her nose on the ground like a cheep hooker on a friday night.

At which point everone apeared to be watchen and all started pissen them selves laughing and claping.

Oh well,at least the other 6 flights went off without a hitch.

Shity weather today. Nuts and I were going to go for a fly but the weather was crap,so I thought Id sling me plane/glider/heli in the car and go down to the forestdale field and check for Die Hard Pilots.
As luck would have it there was one so I said G'day and got the power glider and plane out.

After I watched him fly his 60 size Spitfire for a bit I put the glider up. She got buffeted around a bit in the wind, but I was still haven fun. Pushed her hard today, that brushless is bloody amazing.

Then I put the Avistar up. Pushed her hard too! Tryed a few one wheel touch and goes with mixed sucsess till I draged a wing tip an almost crashed it.
