I've been thinking about racing the mini-T (when do I not think about it).. and was wondering about what kind of 'classes' would be ideal..

Maybe something like this:

Stock:
Stock Chassis
Stock or losi speed motor, any batteries, any tyres

Modified:
Open Chassis
Mod brushed, any electronics, any batteries, any tyres

Brushless:
Open Chassis
brushless, any elecs, any batts, any tyres

in the case where not enough entrants rock up, the modified and brushless class can be combined. making a stock class and modified class.. "other cars" like RC18T, etc will run in modified class regardless of mods, or in brushless class if brushless.

I think it's fair. I dont really think the brushless folk will be going faster than the modified folk anyway, certainly not on an actual mini-T track. Flying off the track, perhaps. (AIR ! !amazed )

I might write up some rules, regs, classes, etc, make it offician, and take it to Ryper and check out what they already have planned. Might also offer our help with running the events, getting it big, doign timing, etc. coool.

As for the track, Perry at Ryper said they were going to make the track larger soon, (possibly before May? I'll ask again), and improve it, etc. I'm sure we can provide input. We should all head down there when our mini-T's are ready, and have a blast, show Perry that we're dead set on racing, etc. That way they can pull their fingers out and get it all sorted for us.

Racing is $5 if your a member of Ryper, membership is $50 i think, and also gives you half price track hire on other days, and 5-20% discount on the hobby store (depends on brand)

When I took my STOCK mini-T to the track, and ran my regular 1100mah nimh battery pack, I had trouble controlling the thing on the track! haha, so with anything more hardcore than that, it's gonna be tough! the new track should be neat though. we'll see.

I'll be down there as soon as my mini-T is operational again!

for sure. plus, the more interest (people rocking up) the more pro the race day's will be. Maybe TA can "sponsor" a class or two, or the whole event.

I'll have to talk to Perry. We could maybe provide the computer for the timing (can use my laptop or..) and the speakers for the alycat software, etc.

we'll see. I think we're going to have to organise a banner :)

big things happening this year!

t-shirts ! :)

I got the best design. A pic of a "strong man" arm doing a bicep curl, with TEAM ADRENALINE written under it. or somethiing. sillouette style.

coz we're tough. :)

modelflight.com.au have a whole Losi Sport section. They seem to have a fair few parts (all the stock parts) plus hop up's from Dynamite, etc.

Ryper still hasnt got a new website. They have someone working on it, supposedly

looks like there will be a handful or 'T' racers from TA alone! not to mention others who dont know about the site, etc, etc. fun fun fun

Fcuk the rest, TA are going to muscle their way into the Mini-T racing scene this year ;)

If ya need a hand with anything, let me know hey...I can provide a laptop also, and of course I can provide bread for things like sausage sizzles for "fund raising", or just to promote interest in TA!!

Not to put a damper on the racing idea, but I can't see myself regularly coming down.... I'm a basher ;) I'll probably have to save for a month to pay for the petrol to get down to Ryper :P We need to set up our own track, on an oval, with 100m straights :D

aaah kardinya. cool. I'm in a new estate in yangebup, cnr stock/yangebup rd.

RC_King, good idea. Infact a "mod motor" would surely be a good idea for racing. I plan to use my radio gear's features to 'slow' my mamba down for track racing. or run lower voltage batteries. Or re-program the mamba with the USB link cable so it's not so psycho. who knows.

As I said, even a stocker with nimh battery goes hard on their track. you'll still be hitting walls/obstacles, etc. It will be interesting to see the mamba stay on the track. who knows....

cant wait

I remember watching the newb races at the PRECC track. Every race would become a demolition derby and you basically won if you survived (I just made sure I was out front by letting everyone go first, crash, then I'd drive past them).

I like the idea of that except seeing stupidly fast mini-ts flying around/over/off the track instead !lmao
