Is scruitineering something that happens in RC ?

Every hobby that I've been involved with including Speedway, Slot Cars and the rest, you get your car scruitineered before the night to make sure it complys with the rules.
I'm not saying it should happen every week, but maybe randomly before a race the cars should be checked.
I know there aint no sheep stations on the line, but it does suck when you get beat by someone not playing by the rules.

Does it happen at Interclubs/States/Nationals ?

wilk, usually we do scrutineering at major events. at the nationals this year we had pre-race and post-race scrutineering. also remembering that the club will have to supply someone who knows wat to look for.

As Golumn said we generally only properly scrutineer at big events, though we do a bit at interclubs as well. Though thats generally only a quick check, keeping eyes open etc. I did see some LiPo's at the Carine IC at the weekend, but as we were rained out nothing became of it.

There are some weird rules too... did you know your windows are not allowed to be painted? I think they can be lightly tinted, but they must be mostly transparent. Not entirely sure why, but rules is rules!
Though admittedly that one gets applied a little loosely, especially if someone has an RTR car which generally comes with painted windows.

I have seen motors get stripped down, to verify that stock motors had stock armatures etc. There was a whole mess of appealing at an onroad event last year because someones stock motor can had the wrong kind of magnet mounts or something. Discussion went on for ages.
