So I dont have the privlage too do reviews apparently!! Must be coz I carnt spell.LoL.

So for the benifit of Newbee's here it is.

ARTF = almost ready to fly.

Now in this day and age we are all strapped for time,or just want to get in the air sooner(me included). So Ive allready Built, flowen, converted and smashed one of these befor!! Let me tell you It flys like a dream, but it is not a compleat novice glider. Its a aerobatic slope trainer.

This is why. Firstly Its only 1.32 meter span, generaly the bigger the better for beginers, and this is quite a small glider.Secondly its an aileron trainer which means it doesnt use the rudder to turn(which is better for the newbee as the turns are quite slow),it uses control surfaces on the wings to steer, and they will have your glider upside down in no time.

Now the reason its called a trainer is because it has a flat botom wing, this produces alot of lift the right way up,but not so much inverted.

Ill quickly go into my previous experiance with this glider befor I get into the new edition.

COYOTE #1, I think it was $80 or $90 last time( I got this one for $70) got it home and relized It needed mini servos, didnt have them at that time so I shoe horned in standard size servos.Unfortunatly I had to shave down the wing joining dihedral brace to get the steering servo in the wing,This would later contribute too its demise. With it built and ready too fly I wandered out too my dads Ultralight airstrip and piffed it in the air,I had alot more control surface throw than recomended in the instruction's,mainly because I am not a novice and wanted lightning fast responce from the sticks so I could do fast rolls and tight loops. They shore were fast and tight as I found out when I got to the hill on my grandfathers farm.Loved how it flew,Fast if need be ,yet had a fairly slow stall speed even though the wing loading was up with the standard radio gear.Soon I required the need for speed and the need for power.
So back at the drawing board the first tool I used was a band saw!!! And lopped off the nose cone, then installed a 540 size motor and stick pack with a fuse and an on/off switch.Back out the airstrip I went. Well what a rocket, easly as fast as some of my other nitro planes, and a performer too boot. She lasted like this for months untill one day at full speed I pulled back on the stick too hard and the wings folded where I modded the dehedral brace, plummeted 100 m into the deck with the motor still at full tilt,Needless to say I didnt bother fixing it as it hit that hard it snaped the prop and bent the motor shaft,It takes allot to bend a 3mm shaft that is only a cm long and the rest is lobbed into a Van I use as a RC MASS GRAVE SIGHT.

Ill get some one to put up pickys as I go allong with the build of #2. !evil

Wing halfs are glued together now!One half has a twist at the tip that needs to be sorted with an iron.

Was going to put a micro servo in the wing that I allready have, but afraid it will be too week. So TOO THE HOBBY SHOP!!

As far as the elevator servo goes, If I can get two mini servos forn the right price thats what I will use ,but failing that I might just use a full size servo.

Maiden will be by the end of the week!

Bugger, the servo's I wanted were $40 each,so I got one, and will use a full size servo for the elevator.
The one I decided on was a Hitec HS-225BB Mighty Mini,Impresive specs too. speed is 0.14 sec/60 degrees and torque is 3.9 kg/cm

Ok Its mostly finished now! Bit of a funny story with the maiden flight.

Yesterday morning I woke up at 4:00 am,so I got to work on the glider. For some reason I took the servo plugs out,oh ye to rout them under the bulkhead, anyway After work I was in a hurry too test fly it befor our comity meeting, down to the park plug the flight pack in and it smokes and the servos do nothing!! I put the plugs in upside down, fizzed the battery wires and started to bugger the servo wires too.Walk back home get another battery and worked out what I'd done,so back too the park. this time I had forgoten to heat the warp out of the wing so it wanted to turn left even with the trim all the way over.

Never mind,It flys. Gota say but, I hate that monocoat shit they cover it with, not very workable on the iron at all.
The warp is much better, but not how I want it yet.

And this time I had the control throws less than recomended,I can and will be increasing them for this arvo's second flight.

Well I'm sick and tired of waiting for a westerly, and seeing as I now have a doner brushless/speedy/LiPo,Its been atached to the glider.
Ive got know Idea what the power will be like but Im confordent it will be suficiant.
I just have too try an cure the vibration and she's away.

Must admit it wass a very rough job.
I hacksawed the nose block off, screwed the motor on and forced the Lipo in under the wing so I could get CG without having to add lead.

Now Its going to bloody rain all day,go figure.

well,no rain but some inconsistent wind instead.

Never the less, after three stubby's I went down the park for her Powered Maiden Flight.

Good news is, it's still in one bit.even better news is it flys well under half throttel which is a bonus as I cant get rid of the vibration.

This is great as I have a better idea of what size model this motor/LiPo combo will be able to deal with.

so best I sort that vibration and build a pylon mount for Matts glider. I recon it would work If I could use all the power.

Im only going to give the kit 6 out of 10.

Im dissapointed to be honest, the first one I built was preety good compared to this one, must have been a FRIDAY kit.

Hey Stoney , have you balanced the prop mate , run the motor without the prop and see if it still vibrates , if not change or balance it

err,no! I was just going to replace it because the tracking seemed out.

worth a shot but,Cheers RB.

The prop seemed to balence ok,considering I used a screw driver as the "balencer". And the motor shaft ran true un-loaded,so I put the prop on without the spinner and it's just like a new now.
Tested full power holding onto it in the lounge room! It might just get Matt's glider up.....

Holy snapen duck shit, that little brushless would have as much power as a 540 easy.Im sure it would get that 2 meter glider up in no time at all.

latest update in this little slopey fellas,I flew her at mosman park over the water. Mate what a spot,I flamin had a ball.
Half a dozen other gliders while I was there too.

But getting back to the glider, she got her maiden slope outing yesterday.
She performed very well, until my reciver pack went flat.....

She had a glitch, and as normal it pulled full down elevator for a second,I thought hmm battery must be getting flat, told the boys I was gunna land and made a circit toward my INTENDED dumping ground,
got to within 30 meters and she glitched bad and went in hard.

should be easy to repair but. :D
