Who's it made by? What is parts availability like?

More to a car than initial cost.

Wilkinson

yer at the end of the day its a positive for JC,saying that its a clone is 95% correct as in the looks of the car etc,

its basically saying that the world bj is so good pple need to copy 95% of the design to have a car that is half as good

Parts support will be as good if not better than any other 4wd buggy available in Australia ,
im about 95% thru building the kit, one thing for sure is that the engineering is not as good as the kyosho zx-5

Nobody locally stocks any hotbodies parts, and given they are the race arm of HPI, and how hard HPI parts are to get, I don't see it being easy to get parts for.

Wilkinson

I heard Ryper will have parts for it no probs...

Chris

plus you should be able to get all parts through frontline hobbies.

Alex
10-05-2007, 02:22 PM
HB and HPI parts are both available locally.

And can be airbagged in AUS if dealt through the right channels. It all depends if your local hobby store is willing to support you as a customer and vice versa;)

and of course, more demand throguh LHS means more support from the distributors.

Rypers a def tick for HB and HPI parts. The D4 will be a well supported car.

This is incorrect information,
full parts are available from rypers !!! ( dave has got a big order just landed)
and the prices are cheaper than the rest !

And everbody yellls wicked !!
( shock shafts NO problems ) KB

Hey Kevin... does the shell come with an undertray? or is it like the BJ - a sticky sheet of nothing ;)

KingBob
10-05-2007, 05:11 PM
So my statement was correct at the time of stating it.

Now it's: nobody in perth HAD parts for them. :)

And for the record, my 4wd has finished 22 of the 25 races it has run in. And earnt me a medal at the autumn river festival :)

Yes it comes with a full lexan under tray,
the d4 body fits my zx-5
and the bj4 body fits the D4,( slight to long in the nose) even the rear mounting hole is the same !!
!yikes

More photos,
I only got my hands a camera half way threw building the kit.

Here is the box it comes in, filled with bags of all the parts nothing exciting about that,
no allens keys are supplied or shock oil either .

dont like the centre design, sticks out a fair way and also the rear tyre hub things that are hex, other then that it looks good

revsinc

the front hubs and arms, these gave me some trouble, as you can see 3 shims are used, fiddly indeed plus I assembled them incorrectly 4 times ! Stupid idea with the front hex hubs with the pins exposed on the outside and help in pace with rubber cemet ???
the hex are the same size as zx-5 , front wheel do not fit. the rears can be made to fit, but the off set is different .
