Hey Brocky , they say DVD video recording quality plus they also reckon that you can throw away your digital camera as this is mad photo quality .
I love the fact you can record for ages on a 2Gig card in high quality and be able to plug the phone directly into your TV to watch it back along with photos

2gb, dvd quality and record for ages are not normally used the same sentence.
i think it will be good for a phone and a convergence device, but i wouldn't swap it for a dedicated camera of video camera.

Played with one at work. They're ok, but wouldn't swap it for my digital camera or video camera. It took a while to pass testing for the carriers, and at the moment still hasn't passed Optus testing. Personally, i just got a Samsung Blackjack instead.

Ok , got 1 today .
VIdeo quality is not DVD like but i tell ya what , its very very good in general running VGA quality @ 30fps which is very high for a phone and in fact pretty much the same quality if not better than analogue Video cameras so thats grouse .
Photos daytime are SENSATIONAL and Krispy Clean , their obviously not up with SLRs but you probably wouldnt pick the diff against a stock Digi Cam . NIght time shots well you can never expect anything too good with something that uses an LED as the flash but still acceptable .
For me this phones all about convenience and this is the convenience of having a phone , mp3 player , video player , video camera , photo camera , wifi , GPS Nasvigation with Australia Maps all in 1 littel package .
Man , this things even got a barcode scanner built in and ive played with it and i dont need it but its fun , you scan an item , it then asks you for a description and stores the info ( good if you loan DVDs / CDs to People ?? , quickly scan it and put your mates name in there as a loaner ??? ) .
Man theres heaps of stuff on this phone , bloody great move .
Ohh by the way , 1 minute video recording in 30fps @ VGA = 10meg so on a 2 gig card it gives you about 3 hours recording

hey matt , im on the 149 biz cap with vodafone so works out to about $12 extra a month .
The iphone , yeah looks crazy just cant wait for it to come out though as i want something now . Im positive i will end up going 1 of those down the track but definately wont be using it for a phone , after 2 touchscreen phones , they dont suit my work .
Apparently these iphones will be about $700 AU so their pretty bloody cheap considering what they do .

For anyone thinking bout 1 of these phones ... GO GET 1 , bloody sensational phone .
Photo quality is in par with any ( if not better ) than allot of 5 MP cameras on the market , ive played with the settings and video quality is DVD like smooth scrolling @ 30fps and sharp .
Anyway , my question is thoughts on this :

Ok , found another feature on this phone thats totally blown me out off the earth ( i just landed now ) .
As most would know , the N95 has GPS nav built in with mapping , well heres what spun me out . Its a program called Sports Tracker supplied by Nokia for Free and i wont say too much other than check the pix .
I bought a mounting bracket and slightly modded it to fit onto my mountain bike so this is the info i se when im riding .

Even gives you a map of your run ( i just went round the block to test it out hence a rectangle )
THis also can work with the inbuilt mapping for street names etc but i havnt played with the settings on how to import the mapping but has to be simple

Anyway , thats it , bloody sesational stuff .
It keeps every record of when youve used it with its own calander and it keeps all that info for you to look back on .
If you do the same track every time , you can mark spots on it and it will tell you if your ahead of time or behind compared to earlier sessions .

So Adam, can you download your track information from your gps to google earth? Thats something I really like about the program (GPS Dash2) I use on my nokia phones and pda.
I'm really hangin out to stick the gps up in a plane so I can see the flight path in 3D on google earth.

Have you done that yet with GE, its bloody awesome. I do it a lot with our 4wding and camping locations. Its pretty awesome seeing the 3d view as it shows you down in the valleys and on top of hills when you pan and tilt the view.
Another cool feature of GPS Dash is that you can replay all of your information back on the screen or upload it to the PC version and print out your stats.
This photo shows my gear changes and you can click anywhere on the screen to get your speed or rate of acceleration. I havent got any maps loaded for this program but you can also click on any part of the track and it will show the same information for that part of the track and at what time you passed that section. Definitely a funs little program.
