Actualy the EPP wing big Dazz got would be the go for combat.
We could actually tow streemers like the old days befor EPP was invented.Safer that way too.

stone
14-05-2007, 08:11 PM
Im thinkin Pylon racing! Coupla witches hats with broom sticks sticking out of them painted red or somthing.
All sorts of things we could try in the future: Combat,Pylon racing,Limbo,Spot landings,Pitt table touch and go's! Lolly drops, egg bomb drops, piggy back a glider on my IC plane,Slope soaring,Slope pylon racing,HLG last one up,.........Heaps of fun stuff.

Yeh I dont know what it is Mic,most of them are pushers.
Hey Stoney just remembered i have a
zagi 400 which is a electric powered wing that
has a pusher motor i havent flown it yet....
I might have to test it out..
And i have an electric glider that runs off 7cells
i havent flown that yet as well, its about a 1metre long.
(i better go check wot ive got cos i keep finding planes ive
half built or built but not flown)

Ok fellas, looks like a couple of the boys are going away for the long weekend so I recon the following sunday.
There is a huge big park in midland where the Biplane fotage was taken, thinkin thats the spot. On Harper rd I think it was.
Matt Ill do my best to have a pylon built for your glider by then Mkay!

Well boy's,it seem's a few of you are keen for flying today.
the weather is bloody fantastic too!!!!!
Harper st, Woodbridge.
I'll be rockin up about 11am, Ive just got to transfer the brushless back too the glider then I'll have that, the nitro plane and the Heli,no biplane today but....I killed it yesterday flogen it around till the top wing ripped off at 50 meters up.
Needless to say she wopped into the ground pretty hard, and while I wont bin it just yet,I think it's beyond repair this time.
Oh and just for shit's and giggles Im going to strap me digi cam under the Avistar!!
I did it yesterday and it worked so this should be fun.
See you there.

Ha ha,should be fantastic weather tomorrow. It's been great the last two days,so It's on for tomorrow fella's.
Harper st Woodbridge,about 1 PM.
Ive gotta go to the club and pay membership in the morning, then after Ive got the MAAA membership I can fly indoor at the Midland Velodrome!! WOOT,love indoor.
Oh and Matto, got that motor pod built but need to sort the prop and solder it all up. Trying to make it universal so we can use it on the Avistar to launch the gliders aswell!!
Need to rig a servo on a y lead me thinks.....Hmmmmm
stone

What a great day,had a tad of lift on a slope behind the park when I first got there.
Matto was a bit out of form in the wind (up all night whoreing again),but he had quite a few good tows and flights,he even had a go of my Avistar for a few minuets at a great hight.
Well done bud.
Mongrel tested ALL the glue joints I had made the previous weekend! At one stage I looked up to see it sticking out the ground like a javlin. Getting better mate, good on ya.
Richard had his areo bird buzzen around the sky a couple of times. the first one was a little short lived due to the wind, but a little while later It died off and we hand launched her to comit avaition. As is the norm with them it was a little lacking in control surface throw, but a good flyer all the same.
good too see ya in the air mate.
As for me,I flew the avistar at the Forestdale club in the morning then drove to the park in midland for lunch time.
Put the fling up off the slope befor the boys got there, then the avistar got a good thrashing.Gave the other glider a few hand launches then put the Avistar up a couple of more times.
I was bangin the sticks around and Nuts was standing behind me saying he could hear the sticks banging from side to side,LOL.
Great day fellas,cheers.

Get the condore ready and we can do some glide-land training.
There's nuthin to it mate, infact it's probly my fav part of flying.
1. work out the wind direction.
2. work out your aproch direction and angle.
3. make the first two happen!!
4. when you get down to about 10 feet slowley ease the elevator back so as to lessen the aproch angel.
5. now all you have too do is watch the air speed bleed off as you keep increasing the up elevator till it touches down at stall speed !!
Too ****in easy! It might be your biggest fear at the moment, but it wont be for long.

Yesterday would have been perfect for the glider, light winds most of the day and inversions all over the place.
We'll try to make it sunday weather pending.
revsinc - you talking about your heli? If so bring it down other wise Stoney lives down that way so maybe you could talk to him about giving you a hand to sort it out sometime, if he's willing to have a go.

Cheers fellas that was a hoot. So I took two planes down the park and got to fly four!?! :D Cheers Daz,that slinger is fun to fly,and the Pulse, mate thats some power to weight ratio its got going on.
Well as it turned out I bought a second hand wattage PC9 at lunch time to fly this arvo, and it flys great just a tad under powered. So I give it some consideration and mounted my Hacker out of my 3D plane in it tonight, should have more balls now.
The little flatty did me proud today, tryed a knife edge spin a couple of times but I must have to much elevator or ailiron throw, coz she just wouldnt do it,never the less it was alot of fun. !super

It was a nice day for flying yesterday, I'm really sorry I didnt take a plane up there now.
I got some led's for you when your ready. Their 935mm from led to led (The Flatana is 915mm) with a jst connector on the end. I just used the 5mm leds I had here to see how they work. I'm going to look into using some little 0.9(thick) x 2 x 3mm led's (or some surface mount led's) in the future and use some silver paint I have sitting around from my electroplating days to put straight on the wings instead of wire, that way you wont see any wiring.
The Green led looks brighter than the red in the photo because it has a wider viewing angle than the red and its a different mcd rating but I have mucked around with the resistors so they both look similar now.

Geoff, and Richard...
How many planes have you fellas got now??
stone
20-08-2007, 12:35 AM
Um hang on,4 gliders,4 indoor models,2 park flyers and 2 nitro planes.Well thats the metro hanger anyway. !lol
So the new PC9 got a fly in the crapy conditions this morning, heaps more power but I realy could'nt suss it proply
untill this arvo right on dusk when the wind had died.
Turned out I still want more power, :D
So tonight in went a much bigger motor again that I got from Daz yesterday.
Mate this thing is going to hoot now.In true turboprop fassion.

Wicked,cheers man.And whats that,silver paint for wire?
Yeh, its basically a conductive paint I had when I did touch up work on a specialty line of jewelery we use to make. I also have some carbon based paint somewhere but it doesnt look as pretty as the silver and its a lot hard to use.
Geoff, and Richard...
How many planes have you fellas got now??
Not Enough! :) 2 X park flyers, the Slow Stick and the glider, but looking at a slope soarer as soon as the extra radio gear arrives.
I recon its about time you got yourself a powered plane Matt :)
