Ok, so I'm still waiting on my Mamba, but today I received my Fullforce bits as well as the pro hopups I ordered from RMS.
Basically, I turned this....

I can't wait for the mamba! It'll let me get rid of the unsightly stock electrics.

Fullforce parts were excellent. Everything went together perfectly.
If anyone plans on doing chassis mods, be careful of those e-clips! They're tiny. I lost one and had to crimp a normal size one down to fit....still might fall off.

totally awesome. is the fullforce chassis bigger? looks longer, or something, hrmm.
very nice. i like.

Nope, same size.
If I manage to break something now, I'll be very pissed off...

AWESOME!!!!!!!!! :)
I cant wait to get my chassis kit now, after seeing that!
Mine is a lot more stealth looking with the lid off...I still have the black suspension arms, all black carbon fibre parts, and the battery packs are dipped in black liquid plastic :D
Yours just looks pure bling bling!!!!
James
02-03-2005, 06:33 PM
justo's is SSG carbon... rather than 'carbon', hence the look.
anyway, nice
justo316
02-03-2005, 06:37 PM
Bling indeed ;)
justo316

It's Silver Surface Graphite I think....same as regular carbon fibre, but silverish instead of black. I got it to match the silver aluminium parts.

What is SSG carbon?
Not sure exactly, al i know is that its the silvery-metallic looking carbon - i love the look of it :)
mann...i hate replying to things that have been replied to on the next page already - i have a habit of that...too impatient -lol-

i just ordered the fullforce alum chassis/bearings & micro servo mounts - i also ordered the evo-x conversion from integy - man i hope it all goes together ok -lol-
Does anyone know if anyone makes part #B1018(Front Bulkhead Kickplate & Brace) as a hopup or in alum or something??? It seems weak as - i've broken 2 already -l-
I keep breaking the "flange-type thingy" where part B1020(F/R Pivot Block Set) screws into the "plate" bit.
justo316
08-03-2005, 03:19 PM
Congratulations on the purchase! I'm gonna have to get the rear motor guard from Integy, and maybe a gear casing if I can ;)
Ok, just checking my manual....
Part #B1018 is two parts? The bit that holds the servo in is definately easily available.
I take it it's the front bulkhead part that you want (the bit the shock tower attaches to)? If so, then I've definately seen an alloy one of these around too. for example

Front end close up. Got the parts from Modelflight today so I could repair the front end. Bumper had broken off and taken off all the screw heads. Glued it back on, then fell down the drain. Managed to hook it with a clothes hanger. Cost about 10bux in parts to fix (screws, front bulkheads).

Waiting on a few major bling bling bits at which point I will take more/better photos.
Got some nice aluminium rims coming as well as a crowdpleazer body. I think I have a wheelie bar coming but I might have accidently not paid them enough postage (stupid ESPhobby site is crap), and I think I have a motor cover coming too.

It certainly is the front bulkhead ;) But i can find that one - the other part (which is actually also B1018, making it 3 parts in one -lol-) i think it's the kickplate?
when you look underneath the mini-t, it's the first thing to connect to the main chassis at the front end - it holds the steering bits too :) ...i ended up finding it - GPM seems to be the only ones to make it, and i can get it from one18th, but they're out of stock :(
Your mini is looking pretty good man! D00d - wait till you see mine -lol- I only have the integy evo x and fullforce chassis on atm, and it looks like a brand new bling truck! i need to sort a camera -lol-

I'm 50/50 as to whether I've seen that part in aluminium or not. I can't remember if they were custom made or maybe I'm making things up in my head (I just woke up).
Try these two sites. Full of aluminium but I haven't bothered to look through it properly yet.
http://www.asiatees.com/model.php?brand=HPI&model=Pro%204&pid=1

I had found it on asiatees, they call it a lower steering brace or plate or something to do with lower steering -lol- That's the part i was looking for....I had originally put in a large order from there, but they mailed me an said they couldnt take c/card - only paypal, but the money came out of the card - i emailed em bout it and they're sending the parts now!!! cant wait -lol-
I figured out i only need hingepins - f/r lower susp. plates - wheels/tyres (will be alum) - couple alum steering bits and a motor mount plate(maybe - forget if i have it coming or not -lol-) and front wheels axles - then i wont have a single stock part on it -lmao-

hey how are you securing your batts to the chassis too by the way? :)
I just realised we have exactly the same chassis, cept yours is cf, and mine is alum -lol- (I cant believe i never noticed that?!?! :O )
I have 2 cell lipos, so i was thinking maybe velcro straps through maybe 4 OF the 6 slots? (front and rear slots) You think it would end up catching on something? I'm wondering if you have a recommendation on where to get the straps or if you got a better mounting ide for me? -l-
justo316
17-03-2005, 03:41 PM
I got an 8 cell pack where the two side cells are angled upwards. This means I have to remove the upper deck to change battery but when it's installed, it aint going anywhere.
Im getting a flat 8 cell made up and if it's anything like the 6cells I was running before, it wedges in there and doesn't really move about anyway.
danhfvcsd
18-03-2005, 09:27 AM
hmmm....my lipos fit perfectly width-ways, but they dont sit tight length-ways - if that makes sense -lol-
I might try out some velcro straps from somewhere ;)

Ordered some Aluminium Rims by Topcad and a GPM rear bumper and Motor plate from RCMart.com. Took a week to get here including initial delays. How awesome do the rims look!!

what a coincidence!!! i just got some alum wheels over the w/e too!!! -lol- i think they're the same brand maybe? They have the disc brakes too ;) Mine are more of a 'straight' 6 spoke tho :) I need dad to get his ass back here so i can get some pics up -lol- those look nice tho man! Man - it's heavy as with all the alum, i cant even wheelstand on extreme settings with 2cell lipos!! but damn is it fast still - i cant wait to see a 3cell in action! Looks like it's back to the stock shock tower for now tho -lol-

Yeah I think I was gonna get those but decided to go a bit fancier. I originally wanted the blue ones, but I decided to keep my truck as silver as possible.
They are wicked rims. The only gripe I have so far is that the front wheels don't allow the bearings to go in far enough. As a result, when you tighten down the nut, it tightens the whole wheel and doesn't let it spin freely. Might have to shim something or just go easy with the nuts.

I actually have that problem too - only it's on the rear, not the front -lol-
Hey - do you guys have problems with the steering linkages sliding up and down on those 2 thin shafts??? It's the 'Z'-shaped steering bits that are sliding on the shafts...i think i need to do some shimming in there myself -l-
Just got my Asiatees parcel with alum gear cover/Fbody posts/lower steering kickplate/large Fbumper.
The gear cover wont fit, cause i had to mod the motor mounting holes to fit the 20t pinion, so a dremel is in order there - the gpm bumper doesnt look as good as the integy one tho, so i'll leave it for spare :)
justo316
22-03-2005, 10:55 AM
Yeah, the wheel tightening problem was there with the stock wheels in the rear. The fronts would tighten up all the way without binding though. Now with the Topcad rims, the rear seems better, but the front is definately worse than before. Small price to pay for the bling factor.

31-03-2005, 03:26 PM
OK, got my tower hobbies order, so I got more wheels and tyres. Also, my wheelie bar came in so I installed that. Painted my CrowdPLeazer body too, but didn't come out great due to the weather. Lots of bleeding here and there.

sick d00d! I dont care how bad you reckon it turned out man - i reckon it's a mad job...10 thumbs up :D
Are they the trinity monster wheels/tyres? - Do they give a better ground clearance than the topcads??? And let me know how that wheelie bar goes - i need one bad -lol-
justo316
31-03-2005, 03:32 PM
Those are Trinity Street tyres and the stock chromes they come mounted on. They are bigger than normal mini-t tyres so you probably have to drop the pinion down a tooth or two....if you have extra pinions.
e107_files/public/36_minit_newbody4.jpg
danhfvcsd
31-03-2005, 03:35 PM
Oh yeah - and what pinion is that?? - d00d its red and so is most of my mini-t!!! -lol- what sizes do they come in? :)
i got the Atomik 20t on there now, but have an 18t aswell - i also have the 3gpm ti pinions, but am gonna avoid using them - one stripped set screw is enough -lol-
And is it only the tyre that is bigger than stock, or are the wheels bigger too? :)

31-03-2005, 03:46 PM
and hey man - i just noticed another part on ur truck i havent noticed before -lol-...the brace above the servo brace...goes from the battery hold down part, and joins on the front bulkhead...i think u said you got it from RMS? - got a link for RMS d00dus? :) That brace looks like a good buy man :)

New dirt hawgs. They are awesome. More onroad grip than my slicks or new trinitys. Have to wait for the grass to dry before I go bash it out in the park.

Dan - dunno what brand pinion it is. It was the last one Perth RC had and it was a 14t so I grabbed it :P
The brace is a fullforce part. Very important part if you dont want to break the front end off your truck.

I was considering putting another T together for racing. At the moment, it'd be way too heavy and not setup right to race. I'd still give it a shot if I had the batteries and pinions to cover me.
justo316
01-04-2005, 02:09 AM
sshhhh ;)
I worked out, it'd cost about another $70 and I could have another fully stock mini-t. Seriously considering using that as a base to put a Race-T together. I'd prefer most of the stock stuff on the Race-T cos it's light and can take a hit rather than snap.

GPM Red Alum Slipper x2 (maybe 3 - think only 2 tho)
GPM Silver Alum 61t spur gear x1
$6 each part - you pay postage sound fair? Too Expensive? Too Cheap?

Nah, no need for those parts. Just got my Aluminium slipper today and don't really want to get a metal spur. Thanks anyway!
I believe the topcad rims are regular size so they will fit regular tyres. The only ones that are different are the trinitys, both the tyre and the wheel are bigger I think.
Saw the topcad rims you are thinking about. Was going to get them, but thought I should keep everything colour coordinated so stuck with silver.
